The remote for my 20-year-old Hunter fan had been malfunctioning for 5 years. It was difficult and then impossible to run on low speed. Installing this receiver was an easy fix. Wish we’d tried it sooner.

This is a second replacement unit for my Hunter fan. All the fans in my house are the same style/model and DON'T want to have to change out fans both for asthetic purposes and the cost. I want all the fans to look the same. The 1st time I bought this remote control replacment from Gulf Coast Fans in May of 2019 it was directly from them as they were not using Amazon. The installtion was super easy then as it was with the purchase of this second one. I am a heavy DIY guy, but I think even a non-DIYer can do this. Just a square 9 contact plug with a external clip between the connector coming from the fan and new receiver module. Just line up the clip to the location for attachment on the wiring running to the fan housing. If you have a light attachment, which I do, there is only one way to connect the light attachment for each wire. The remote comes syncronized to the new receiver module, so put the battery in and it should all work. If it does not, there are simple instructions included to get back in syncronization between the remote and the receiver module. BTW the one from May 2019 is still working flawlessly. Would highly recommend without any reservations.
