At the current price of about 37 bucks, I have found that these bar clamps are more than suitable for light and medium duty activities. The build quality is quite good for what they are, as long as you don’t push them further than they should be pushed. The hand-clamp portion and the end-clamp portions are made of plastic, but they are solid, and there is attention to detail with rubber pads on the clamping faces to help protect work-pieces. The end-clamp is reversible so the unit can be used as a spreader as opposed to a clamp. The bar-portion is metal, and it is plenty-solid, again, for light and medium duty work.I see this eight-piece set as an excellent value, given the current price. For a DIYer like myself, these are very capable and reasonable for everything but heavy-duty use. To be clear, you may be able to push these further than that medium-duty threshold, but they may, or may not hold up to that type of usage.

I found these to be decent clamps for the woodworking I do in my shop. I just usually clamp boards together to hold them while glue dries so I do not need extremely high end and tight clamps. These clamps perform very well for my purposes in that they clamp or spread depending on which end of the bar you put the lockable clamp. I put very stiff pressure on these to clamp and spread to see how well they would hold up under pressure and I had no negative issues with them as far as breaking, slipping or binding up. When under pressure they release easily by depressing the release lever. The locking button on them does seem to be a bit too easy to engage and disengage but I found that it only had to be kept track of when setting the clamp up, not during clamping. These clamps are decent quality, not heavy duty, but are doing everything I expect of them. I like that there are 2 different lengths making them more versatile. I believe I will get good usage from these and they should hold up well for the small woodworking project I get into.

This is a decent lighter duty clamp set. Nice that they came with two sizes. I am not fond of the end piece release however. Just an 1/8" turn unlocks it and bumping it can inadvertently release it while you are attempting to put the clamp on. The tolerances in the moving/sliding handle is also a little tight on 2-3 of them and will require some lube and time to loosen. I did hear a pop in one while using like it cracked but do not see one and so far it still operates. Will have to wait to see if an issue pops up or off. You will need two hands to utilize these as another reviewer mentioned as they are a bit stiff and also do not slide without depressing the release lever. The release lever does work well when under pressure however. You can never have too many clamps when working on a project so I will add these to my clamp rack. Just limited to lighter clamping requirements.

I have over 50 sets of clamps of various sizes and styles. These clamps work as they should and will work for most of what I do, as long as I use them for light duty projects. For lighter duty clamps, they seem well built. They only issue I found was that the clamps don't move as nicely as many others and that got annoying to me. I followed what another reviewer wrote about putting some oil on the shafts and that seem to help me as well. The versatility of these clamps is on par with the others I have. The heads being able to change direction so that they spread instead of clamp is common in this style. The cost of $36.99 for eight clamps, four 12-inch clamps and four 6-inch clamps, this is a very nice price, at about $4.62 a clamp. That's hard to beat.If you need a fairly decent set of clamps for lighter duty work, consider this set.

UPDATE : Since my review I have put these clamps through the ringer. They are better than any other woodworking clamp I have ever used, and I have used them all. My previous favorite was Erw*** but these are equal to and a lot cheaper. A definite strong recommendation.I am always in the need of clamps and when these became available to review I jumped at the chance. This is. Nice set with 6 and 12 inch clamps. I found them to slide easily and hold firm. They do require two hands to operate, it at this price they are an outstanding value and single handed operation isn't necessary. They worked great with ply and 2x4 construction. They were packaged well and delivered in a timely fashion. I have been invited to participate in the Amazon Vine program and it is my responsibility to offer an unbiased opinion. I hope you found this review helpful.

When I first pulled one of these out of the box and checked its operation, I was initially rather impressed. It seemed to be smooth operating and rather heavy duty. I liked that the movable portion of the clamp locked in place both ways until the lever was pressed that releases it to slide. All was good until I did a pressure test - not with an instrument, but just giving a light squeeze and increasing to not more than moderate. At that point, shockingly, the bar itself actually broke apart! The tinsel strength of these, or at least this one, did not begin to match my expectations. I tried another one to see if it would do the same thing, and with a similar amount of pressure it seemed to hold just fine, but I found it interesting that when I release the pressure, even though the two parts of the clamp were no longer touching, it took more Force than expected to get it to slide again - I really don't know why. All of this was quite disappointing as you can imagine. While I hope the others will do fine, my expectations are very low after this, and I will not be able to recommend these.

I’m always in need of clamps and these fit the bill. They are great quality and hold strong for my furniture repair projects. They are a good size and are sturdy enough for clamping glued wooden furniture pieces together while they cure.

Great clamps! Great value! They worked just as good if not better than the name brand clamps I spent too much money on at Home Depot and Lowe’s.
