I live in the deep south with high summer temperatures so this shade cloth is a must have. Tomatoes and peppers love to be in the sun all day long but in the late afternoon in the summer the sun is a little to hot and starts to distress the plants so i use these shade cloths. I use 40% and 50% shade cloth interchangeably. Anything higher than 50% would be to much shade. This shade cloth allows air and water to pass thru easily, it's well made with care taken to make the seams strong and straight. The grommets are spaced perfectly for various uses from hanging over your garden or in front of your garden. This can also be put over a patio or chicken coop or anywhere you want some shielding from direct hot sun.

I recently purchased the 30% Patio Shade Cloth, and I’m quite satisfied with its performance! The 5x6 FT size is perfect for my backyard and provides excellent UV protection for my garden and chicken coop. The fabric is durable and feels high-quality, with grommets that make installation a breeze.It does an excellent job of reducing heat and providing shade during sunny days. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish it came in a wider range of sizes for more versatile applications.Overall, I highly recommend this shade cloth for anyone looking to protect their outdoor areas from the sun. It’s a great value and serves its purpose well!

Absolutely perfect for covering a chicken coop to provide shade but still allowing a breeze to blow through. Looks like it should last all season!

This shade cloth wasn't what I expected. I planned to use it to shade the south side of my tent which gets a lot of sun. But, while this cloth produces a dappled shade, the shade is not noticeably cooler than the unshaded area nearby. As such, I believe this tarp may be better suited to protect plants from being burned by the sun than it is to shading a tent on a hot afternoon.This tarp is the full advertised size of 4 feet x 6 feet and it has no noticeable smell. The fabric mesh has a stiff, rough plastic feel. Around the edge the fabric is doubled over it has two lines of stitching. There are 8 grommets in total, one at each corner and one in the center of each side. The grommets neatly and firmly grip the fabric and they don't seem like they will pull out easily.This shade cloth will be useful to shade my pepper plants when the sun gets hot in August.

Smaller and less coverage than a 90% shade but that is still really good. I set this up on one side of my chicken run to give my birds variable areas of shade and sun throughout the day to enjoy. This is really nice compared to how i had it before which was just under a tree some of the day, but had long hours where it was hot. The piece is not huge so you have to be strategic where you put it, but if you are trying to give your animals some patchy shade this is not a bad product to have.

This sun shade works as expected. It is a 50% shade so it allows a fair amount of sun in but protects against too much light and heat. Works great for animals or plants. It is well made and easy to put up. A great value for the price and I would buy this again.

50% Patio Shade Cloth, Outdoor Sun Shade Fabric is product reviewed.I just moved into an apartment with a patio that gets full sun most of the day. It's just too hot on one end of the balcony for myself and my dog. I didn't really want anything that was like a privacy shade since we like to look out so this was a great idea. I put it on the bottom half of the balcony rail so we're covered from about waist high to the ground. It covered half the porch length (I could get another but don't need the entire porch covered.). It works really well! I (and the dog) can see through it enough and some sun still gets thru but it's enough shade that we can stay out there! I had never seen anything like this and thought it was such a great idea! It's very sturdy and was super easy to install on the railing. Looks good and works great!
