Hello. I want to let you know that I had a few issues with your product. First is that 2of the black pieces had the tabs bent. but I used warm water and got them working. Next is the base tray and first tray does not sit properly and the worms are escaping. I should not have to use tape to seal or rubber gasket to prevent that from happening. Then there's the lid which is all twisted and I had to tape down to prevent the worms escaping as well. So far not a practical composter. finally the vent holes are too large for the composting worms and need to be smaller or have some kind of covering to prevent them escaping such as cheese cloth or some other kind of material that is breathable. Please contact me back to figure out a solution.

I ordered this mainly because I need: the trowel; the instrument to measure pH, moisture and light; and the gloves. The gloves have come in very handy, especially the extended fingernails! I use the pH meter for my hydrangeas, but do not keep it in place, as I destroyed one that way. The trowel would work well in a worm bin but isn't effective in digging earth, as the handle bent a little the first time I used it.I didn't ding this a star, because I wasn't using it in a worm bin when it happened. Had the worm bin portion been included, I'd have set that up, but this was just some starter components.

This is just a kit to fill a 5-tray worm bin. You did not get the bin, which was disappointing. I had to purchase a worm bin. It does fill it up. So I guess I would repurchase again if I need it.

I used to have worm farms but they kept getting infested with black soldier fly larvae that would eat all the worm eggs, so I gave up. I got this assortment of tools to use mainly in my raised planter beds. I like the gloves, expecially the one with claws, for breaking up soil and making holes for transplanting potted plants. It's just as easy to do this with your hand as with a trowel, and with my hands I won't risk tearing the landscaping cloth that lines the planters. I used coir in my original planter mix, so I just added this extra in. Finally, because the soil depth in planters is less than in the garden, it can dry out more easily. The moisture meter is handy to make sure this doesn't happen. Whatever your needs, I recommend this product.

First of all, a kit like this is not truly necessary. I have a bin that's been going for over 5 years and at this point it just runs itself. However I want to split off a bin for my 5 year old to maintain so that's what I'll be using this for- to set up his stacking set. The moisture meter is better used in the garden than in the bin but it's super handy so I'm glad to have it. The rake and gloves will be good for the kids to play in the castings and to cover up food scraps as they're added to the bins. The coconut coir makes for good starter bedding when mixed with plenty of shredded paper or cardboard. all in all it's a really good kit for splitting bins or refreshing the one you have.

This Worm Farm Accessory Kit is nice. I have a small composting bin and this kit has been useful. I am a beginner but hopeful I can keep all my worms alive. The bag comes with a worm kit. The drawstring bag is large and holds the tools included with the kit. There are three blocks of compacted soil without directions. There are tools a hand spade, a small rake, a spatula, a soil meter, gloves, and more. One of the gloves has claws on it for digging in the soil. Instructions are not included but would have been helpful.I will be recommending this Worm Farm Accessory Kit to family and friends.

This is a very useful kit to get once your bin has been going for a while and needs to be harvested or split. It isn’t quite as useful for a brand new bin.The gloves are only for castings, not for a working bin - bedding gets caught in the tips, and they are breathable instead of waterproof. But the tips really are useful for breaking up the castings layer!Trowel & rake are very solid! The rake lifts but doesn’t snag worms. Our new favorite tool for the bin.The meter works well when put in the castings layer, but not in the bedding. And finally there is some coir, which is what bait worms are packaged in. They travel in it ok, but they don’t like it long term, so while it's a nice enough addition to a worm bin kit it's not very useful for our purposes.
