My stock Currie eZip Trails freewheel broke (stopped "grabbing") so I knew these freewheel replacements existed from reading the Endless Sphere forums. My eZip is a 2015 model, and the old rear wheel was worn out and yucky anyway, so I ordered an entirely new rear wheel assembly, complete with gear cassette and the OEM motor freewheel. There were actually notches on this factory freewheel, so I was able to take it off with a Park Tool FR-6.One of the tutorials on ES said a washer might be needed with a freewheel mod, but not on this freewheel, I didn't need any washers. This freewheel here was a perfect drop-in replacement. No hacking needed! Perfect fit! All I needed to do was shorten the motor chain. I bought a new motor chain and used a chain breaker to pop off a couple links, and used a repair link to put it back together. There's definitely alot more speed. It takes a bit longer to get up to speed, but overall, it still seems to pull pretty hard. I am using the stock 24v system however I am using the 9.6 amp hour Currie Real Force LiFePO4 battery pack. The range is probably slightly reduced, because when I am riding, the battery light is frequently in the yellow range, but, also this battery gauge is originally designed for SLA battery voltages, and the LiFePO4 pack voltage is slightly lower. The time it takes to charge the battery pack, which is the metric I am using to guesstimate how much juice has been pulled from the battery, hasn't seemed to increase dramatically after my usual ride, and the motor doesn't feel a whole lot warmer then usual.Caveat: I live in Florida, the terrain is basically entirely flat, so I can't really tell you how this mod will affect hill climbing.
