Recently refreshed our kids solid oak crib for the next generation of users, using Watco’s polyurethane wipe on finish (satin). Have used Watco products before and was expecting similar results, but ended up with a long lasting solvent smell that didn’t seem to go away.After waiting several weeks for the stink to die down, added a box of baking soda to try to absorb odor - a cheap and old fashioned solution - which didn’t seem to help.Purchased a few sizes of these odor removers from the mattress support (see photo) and finally knocked down the smell to an acceptable level. Odor is greatly reduced, I’d venture 95% less than where it was. This ended up being the perfect solution to a challenging product.Would this work on average, organic sources of odor? Based on my use with combating solvent smells from drying, I’d guess they would be great for many situations.

Can’t believe how well this worked getting the awful mouse smell out of our car that’s been sitting for too long. And it only took a couple of days! We had cleaned and everything, but no matter what that smell lingered- until we used these! Bought 2 more packages to use other places!

Purchased these for the used car I bought my daughter due to it having been a smokers car previously. I put all 4 of these charcoal pouches in the vehicle, and keeping cleaning at the car lot, and then again myself, and it has made zero difference. Maybe it works on other orders, but I have noticed any difference in my daughters car, and they have been in there continously for just over 2 mos.

I first read about activated charcoal odor absorbers in November of 2023. I have a dog who has his own unique smell, combined with cooking odors from the kitchen; the first floor often has lingering unpleasant odors, even with the use of sprays and other forms of odor absorbors. Then, there is the not so pleasant basement smell in our unfinished basement. So, when I saw these activated bamboo charcoal bags advertised on the Amazon site, I decided to order and give them a try. Per the Q & A document included with the bundle of 4 bags with hook hangers, I received, it is recommended to expose the bags to sunlight for 2 hours when using for the first time. Per the Q & A, the exposure to sunlight eliminates residual moisture from the product and enhances the absorption of odors. Then, the directions on the flip side of the Q & A card states you should allow the bags to absorb odors for 2-4 weeks, then sit them in the sun again for 2 hours once a month. Finally, by following this process, the bags will absorb odors for up to 2 full years. Per the directions, there are 6 different intensities, all with different uses for odor absorbtion. The different intensities range from 50g up to 500g. The 4 pack of bags I ordered are 200g. The Q&A card also indicates that there are no additives or chemical in the bags. So, with just the bamboo charcoal, they are safe for animals and children. One interesting thing is that after you have gotten the max amount of odor absorbson out of them, you can then use the charcoal in the bags to fertilize your garden. I'll have to do a bit more research on that claim before I sprinkle the contents in my garden. The bags are gray in color and measure approximately 6 3/4" L x 5 1/2" W. They appear to be completely filled with charcoal. They are not heavy, but do have some weight to them. I allowed my bags to sit in the sun for about one hour and 45 minutes, while I walked my puppy. After that time, the clouds rolled in. However, they are actually working in our 1st floor combination family room and kitchen. My son stopped by today and commented on how nice it smelt in the house. I hung 1 bag by the fireplace in the family room, 1 upstairs in the master bedroom and 2 in the basement. The 2 in the basement haven't been able to absorb the odors in the basement. But the other 2 are working well so far. I gave the bags 4 stars for the odor absorbson in the family room, kitchen and master bedroom. It's still too soon for me to know if they will help with the odor in the basement.
