My mom is 95 and her skin is very fragile. Recently she had a fall and got a skin tear on her ankle. I've dealt with skin tears many times and it can be very painful when changing the dressing. I ordered this and it works great. I can cut it to the size needed, place it on the wound and then lightly cover with gauze to protect the area. The gauze never sticks as the adaptic mesh is coated which keeps it from drying out and sticking. I change the mesh twice a day when I change the gauze dressing. I believe there are some reviews that say you can leave it on for more than a day but I found that it will dry out a bit which makes it a little painful to remove. If I change it twice a day - it doesn't stick at all and my mom doesn't complain at all. This has been a real life saver - my mom doesn't handle pain well (who does?) so I am very happy to find something that will help with the healing. I've been using it about a week and a half and the healing is progressing nicely.

As we grow older, our skin thins and changes. The regular 3"x3" bandages have very strong glue that keeps it sticking. When you change them daily, it has a tendancy to take skin with it, if removed too fast! OUCH!!! Removing it hurts terribly! If you are over 58 and have thinner skin, you need THESE bandages! They are absorbant, they allow the wound to breath, yet doesn't rip your skin. This becomes VERY important, if you have wounds on your butt, your inner thigh, inner arms, or underarms. Do you need a dressing that works, but doesn't stick as much? This is it!

My husband burnt his thumb pretty bad. These are a must for wrapping around the burn area, then wrapping it with guaze. It helps protect the wound and guaze won't stick to it.

This is the best product I have ever seen for aiding in the healing process. I had surgery on my forefinger due to a table saw cut. I used this non-adhering pad before applying the gauze on my finger. I had to change the dressing every five days until it was healed. This product was perfect because it did not allow the gauze to stick to my finger. This made my dressing change a lot easier to deal with. It is well worth the purchase to use this product without question. I highly recommend this product.

I had surgery in January to have a finger removed. The first time the doctor removed the bandage I saw this dressing underneath laying on all the areas that had been stitched and was afraid it would pull on the newly amputated site. It didn’t. When I went home, I was given orders to change my dressing daily. The hospital gave me a small supply, but I soon had to order it on my own. I continued to use this non-adhering dressing under the gauze every day until I was finally healed. I feel like this helped speed healing since there was no pulling daily as scabs formed after the stitches were removed. There is a lot in the box and we really didn’t need that much as you cut each piece to fit the area you need to cover. If I ever have the need to keep a dressing from adhering in the future, I’ve got plenty left and will definitely use it again.
