Previously bought an Addi knitting machine from another seller. I hadn’t used a knitting machine before, but I felt like it ran a little rough. It didn’t seem new. When the machine got to the black pins, it was hard to turn the wheel. I read mixed reviews, some saying the Addi machine dropped stitches like crazy or was finicky. I watched video after video of people using Red Heart yarn, but my machine would barely work. I had to use one specific type of yarn. I returned the first machine and decided to try a this seller. This new machine is different. It looks new. I can use Red Heart with no problem. When it gets to the black pins and hits the counter, you can feel it but it’s a smooth action. I didn’t realize it was coming from Germany, but that wasn’t an issue. A little wait was worth it.I didn’t expect to like it as much as I do, but it’s therapeutic. I have issues with fine motor skills. Knitting and crocheting don’t come easily for me. I’m surprised at how some knitters consider this a lazy way to do knitting. I have seen negative comments in different forums. It’s not easy for me. There’s a learning curve. I’ve watched people do complicated projects with the Addi. I’ve seen women say they have arthritis and can no longer knit, but they can with this machine.

It likes a 3weight yarn. Literally. It likes most types of fiber. It has a problem with 100% cotton. It has a serious problem with concrete and cream dish cloth yarn. It pops and whines while missing or not passing the yarn over the oncoming stitch. Yes, 100% 4wt cotton is it's nemesis.Wools, acrylics, polyesters are okay. 4wt and higher is a bit of a struggle. Fluffy/furry 3 weights (classified as 4wt) are okay, unless you have to tink back your work. Try at first but cut the loss and do over.I have yet to try a cotton blend or a finer weight cotton. Maybe this spring 🌼🌱. For now it's hats and paneled sweaters. ;) These machines are expensive. I'm hoping it will stand the test of time!!

The Addi Express Knitting Machine has quickly become one of my favorite crafting tools, prompting me to purchase a second one after my first began to wear down. I absolutely love the versatility it offers, allowing me to create a wide variety of knitted hats as gifts for friends and family. While the machine can be used for more intricate projects like fair isle knitting, I find myself returning to the simplicity of making beanies and scarves, which are perfect for personalizing gifts. That said, there is a learning curve, and I spent quite a bit of time watching YouTube videos to master the technique and troubleshoot any mistakes. However, once you get the hang of it, the process becomes incredibly quick and enjoyable—you can easily whip up a stylish hat in just 15 minutes! I highly recommend the Addi Express for knitters of all levels looking to add a fun, efficient tool to their crafting arsenal.

I purchased this item around Christmas time last year and I wanted to make a bunch of knit hats and items for Christmas presents. Out of the box, this was very easy to put together, the appearance is very sleek, and the product is a good value for the money. As far as performance goes, The needles don’t slip and catch various types of yarn. With that said you do need to be careful with what kind of yarn you are using as too thick of yarn will get trapped in the needles and can actually cause them to break on this machine. I would recommend researching what kind of yarn is recommended before purchasing to make sure that you like to work with that kind of yarn. The yarn that I have used is from Joann fabrics, their big twist brand, along with Lion brand yarns both work very well. I have made probably 75 hats, a baby blanket, a handful of scarves, mittens, and the machine is holding very well. I would give it a 10/10 for durability. This is a fun machine to work with and when it does break I will likely purchase another.

As someone wanting to learn circular knitting I bought the Addi versus it similar Sentro version. I see people complaining about getting the cheaper Sentro and complaining the Addi costs too much. It was so worth spending the extra money! As with anything you have to learn how to use it. I watched the 100’s of videos on you tube waiting for it to arrive. The shipping took a little longer than expected and wasn’t updated until the day before I got it. I just kept watching tutorials and stocked up on supplies and yarn. I got it out of the box screwed the legs on and knit a perfect tube. No dropped stitches. It was smooth as silk. The first row after cast on is a little noisy and as soon as second row starts it is smooth and quiet. This is normal. The row counter is perfect. I have made many hats as well as ear warmers so far and it’s still awesome. I love the pattern book and can’t wait to get my skills up so I can try some. I would buy this again. People that bought cheaper models are complaining so much in my knitting group and I haven’t had any problems with my Addi. I would recommend this to anyone. I was a complete beginner and after watching tutorial knit a hat the night I got it. I am now looking into buying the smaller 22 needle version! My only complaint is that Addi does not have a 40 needle version I can buy. Sentro does and I’m nervous about that. I will purchase one eventually. This Addi is definitely worth the price. I would buy it again and recommend to anyone.

My Addi came just as described, with all the components, and in great working order. This machine is great for turning out quality knit items such as hats, scarves, and even stuffies.I recommend that anyone new to knitting machines read the instructions and even do some reading on online forms to understand the machine better. My only dislike of the machine thus far is that I had to buy a separate tension part to help produce a more even and consistent tension for my pieces.
