I bought the Ade Advanced Optics green laser sight for my new Beretta PX4 Compact pistol. I was looking for a basic laser sight for the range and to shoot in low light conditions where the non-night sights on the pistol would be difficult to see. The "ultra compact" label is a bit misleading, as this is not a small device compared to the size of the pistol. Compared to a rifle, now you'd have a case for "ultra compact". That said, the laser sight fits the PX4 compact, as in it fits onto and locks into the rail on the pistol. The fit is tight and required a bit of force to go on, and the release bar bit me in the process. But it did go on and is secure. The laser itself is very bright and comparable to my previous green laser sight that I bought for my rifle. That one is easily visible in bright sunlight, so I have no doubt this one will too. As one other reviewer noted, with the adjustment screws on the front of the laser sight, adjusting the laser is an art of contortion to hold the gun, turn the screw, and see where the laser is pointed down range. But for the under $40 price, the laser sight is a great value compared to the $150 or more Crimson Trace or similar laser sights.

This is an excellent laser for the price, it's mounted on my Smith and Wesson M&P 9 Pro Series, and it fits wonderfully. The only downside is that the lockup to the rail isn't the strongest but it's still pretty tight, and the windage and elevation adjustments are located on the front (screw off the top most cap). This made it hard to adjust when at the range but only a minor inconvenience. Put about 200 rounds through it and still held up strong and accurate!

Some time ago I bought a red laser with flashlight for my Springfield XD and it was difficult to get set properly. Part of it may have been my inexperience but with some help got it done. Even tho I had to file the insert block a little it worked well. I liked it so much I bought this green laser only device for my Glock 17. It was so simple. I put in the battery and tested it, then slid the device down the rails while holding the insert block down until it reached it's destination. This is well made and engineered because they made it so easy to install. Then I went out on the porch and marked off about 25 to 30 feet and aimed the Glock, then turned on the green laser. It showed up well in the sunlight, then I looked thru the fixed sights and I didn't even have to make an adjustment. The laser was right on target. Now, admittedly, I haven't fired the gun to test the result and if I find out it doesn't live up to my expectations I will come to this review and write a correction but I don't think that is going to happen. This is a great device.

For the price a nice piece of equipment. Fits my M&P and Glock rails snugly. Easy to adjust once the end cap is removed. Requires strong hands the first time. After sighting in don't reinstall so tight. Instructions are not bad but not the best. If you understand that most lasers don't adjust the way scopes do you'll be OK. Also that it is important that the two lines on the adjustment face are as close to plumb and level respectively as possible when the unit is screwed down. The laser is bright and works well outdoors at close range. That is the most you can expect from a laser currently. Taking it off and putting it back on several times and it maintained it's 15yd zero. Seems to be solidly constructed and stands up well to 9mm recoil which is all I shoot. The on off switch is not ambidextrous as advertised. It pushes on from the right and off from the left. It is not as small as it first appears and is at home on full size pistols such as the M&P full size and pro and the Glock 17. About as small as it will fit is the Glock 19 and it sticks out a bit in front of the gun. It will most definitely not work on the likes of the M&P compact kel tec PF9 etc.

Just received the laser and mounted it to my S&W SD9VE. It does not completely fit and I am not sure if is the handgun or the laser's fault. It slides on but does not go all the way home for the lock mechanism to snap into place.Having said that, it seems like a tight enough fit. Tomorrow I intend to go to the range and see how it works. The unit seems very well built and can be adjusted easily, although it adjusts from the front -so as always make darn sure the handgun is unloaded when turning it towards yourself to adjust. I adjusted it a bit to my iron sights so far. I really also like the way one turns the beam on or off. It uses a slide button method that to me can be easily used to activate. Much nicer than my built in laser switches on my other handguns, the S&W BG380 and Walther PK380.It produces a nice strong green laser which works better outdoors than the common red lasers sights.Additionally, it is not a particularly small unit and will be hard to holster I suspect. All in all, for the price and performance so far, I am pleased with it.UPDATE:Today I shot my S&W SD9VE with the laser. Sure enough after several rounds fired it popped off.I re-attached it and pressed down against the table forcing it deeper onto the rail. This time it "clicked" and locked. I suspect a little hammer tapping may be necessary to remove it if I need to, but it is secure now. I think the handgun rail grooves are tapered so the laser may not be at fault here. I did not need to re-adjust the laser at the range, as I did a good job zeroing it in by using my iron sights at home. Also, when I placed the handgun in my carrying case, I accidentally turned it on by pressure on the sliding on/off switch. Just something to look out for, - no big deal if you are aware of that.Again, I really like the bright green output of the laser more, compared to the red dots of my other handguns. For my needs, I like this very much and I think this is a great value.Update 2:Sold my larger handguns for smaller for better concealment guns. This does not fit.I still love the green laser, but I may have to sell it or give it away as my two guns cannot use this item.I have a Walther CCP and a Smith & Wesson M&P Compact 22.Bummer...
