I was skeptical about this product when reading the reviews at first but took a chance. When it came in I ended up mounting it and I must say I was very impressed. I can see why it may had some complaints but for the quality and price u can't go wrong. Tank looks" Great"!!!

Easy to assemble and place on tank. Fittings wide enough for either rimmed or rimless tanks. Elevates light bar to enable wider diffusion of light over tank and at same time reduces direct heat transfer to water surface. Its also now high enough that bubble pops from air stone don't hit the light bar any more and leave deposits. It height now enables proper access to tank surface for maintenance without having to move the light bar. The arms can swivel forward or backward and the light bar heads can also swivel to maintain best angle. Overall a great improvement to my tank.

Very nice. Can angle many positions above aquarium. Have plants growing in top of water table. Great for a grow light. Has a nice built in timer. Set once and forget. Bought multiples after the first one.

The review is for the Aquarium Light Riser. I have the 20gal long tank with the plastic rim on top. So the only way for me to install this is to have the screw (maybe stainless) on the inside of the tank. I cannot use the rubber pad provided because the plastic rim has a lip so the screw is against the plastic lip. I'm hoping that the screw is not going to put a hole in my plastic rim and then crack the glass. There are 2 problems, first is the screw and if it's stainless it will rust when exposed to water. Stainless is not rust proof just less prone to rust than non-stainless. I have several aquarium stainless tools that have rust marks. When that screw rust, it will not be easy to remove. The second problem is the one-sided rubber on a metal plate. The only thing that secures the plate is pressure and friction. It's flimsy to put on. I'm wondering why the screw wasn't nylon instead. Everything else adjusts well, I do like how well they adjust for tilting. However, for the safety of my tank, I do not recommend this product.

Not too many positives for this one. The adjustment knobs are on the inside of the tank so I had to mount it backwards from instructions. Which are only found on the Amazon listing via pictures. The one I received had clearly been returned. The arms are flexing and the light has nothing to really secure to. You will need to add wire Velcro to secure it to the arm. The piece that comes with it to secure it is hard to get in place the way I had to install it. If you don’t have a glass lid on your tank it would probably work fine installing it as recommended by manufacturer. I bought it for the functionality to be able to adjust the light to whatever angle and height I wanted but the installed unit is not solid enough. I basically could have accomplished this with a seven dollar plastic riser. When I placed it in my cart it showed that it would be delivered within five days. After I checked out it said three weeks and it did take three weeks for it to arrive. I can’t return it because I used silicone and super glue to try and secure the inside mounting plate to screw for a more stable insulation. I would not get this if you have kids that feed your tank or curious cats.
