The camera works fine, but the boom arm is cheesy. If you keep the boom arm, throw away the plastic clamp and buy a metal one.

The fact that it came sooner than expected was great! The image quality is fantastic. In my opinion you can see a mouth on a flea with this unit. I have not played with the recording yet but if it's as good as the live image then it will be great. It came with a remote and HDMI cable, although the HDMI cable does not seem to be of great quality and is relatively short. I would recommend purchasing a decent quality HDMI cable. The articulating boom arm is alright, it could be a little bit more heavy duty but it does the job. The lens seems to be of good quality and came with lens covers. I gave it 5 stars because it more than achieved my expectations. Great for hobby coin collectors who need more magnification than a magnifying glass. Also great for electronics repairs and micro soldering. I recommend this product and would purchase again for myself or a family member that would need one.

The HDMI connection has no lag. Image quality is great. USB connection can be a bit finicky but replugging it in before use seems to make it work on OBS and discord. This kit is an amazing deal for the price. I took a chance on this item with the lack of reviews but I'm glad I did. Would recommend to anyone looking to get into small electronics soldering.

I only got it set up today and got to play with it for a couple hours. In the photos, you can see this 48MP microscope displaying an image of the Benchmark Tools 466514 through a Sceptre 22" 1080p monitor. (You'll have to pardon the clutter. It was an involved install process in tight quarters.)Really, I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves. The focal length on this thing is amazing. You can see I'm zoomed in on the 1/64th marks on that rule without any added lighting. While the picture is a little grey, I can vouch that with added lighting, the colors get a lot more vivid. Plus that's just a black & white ruler on a black mat. And that's from a solid 18", maybe closer to 20" or so above my work surface. Some people complain about the price. Some people complain about the arm. Yeah, the arm's not the greatest. But you're not really paying for the arm. Right? You can nitpick anything. The remote didn't come with a battery. The power and HDMI cables could be a little longer. They didn't even throw in an SD card. All that stuff's pennies, but whatever. I don't have to try and manipulate parts under a Luxo binocular scope with a 3" focal length at the magnification I need any more.As long as it doesn't die in like a week, I'm happy as can be.

I bought this microscope because after reading the reviews I thought it would be a good contender for my lab to aid with visual on soldering defects and such to add to the conventional magnifying glass or phone camera, etc.I had a situation where when I would plug in a USB cable to the microscope, my computer would do a blue screen and reboot. This also happened to me with my notebook. The PC was running Windows 7 Pro 32 bit and the notebook was running Windows 8. To this day, I don't know what to make of it. I had played with it and found out the following. If I had a microscope app already running and it asked me to plug in the USB cable of the microscope along with the fact that I had a micro SD card inserted in the microscope and it been affixed to an HDMI device, then my PC would not go through the reboot phase. And upon exiting I would have to unplug the USB cable first before exiting the app. So I don't know what is the reason for such behavior but it does work after all. So I decided to keep it since it it works for what it's worth.Would have been nice if there was some bundled microscope software along with mentioning that it is compatible with certain O/S platforms. It was observed that the HDMI port has no latency issues when used in real time operations for soldering tasks. Pretty pleased on that end of the performance.I could not change the cross hair line colors as per the downloaded manual would speak of. I tried few times and no luck on my end here. I also don't understand the calibration of the hash marks on the grid. I could not make sense of it. I also noted that the clock does not want to keep the time setting upon unplugging the microscope for a few days.Others commented on the fact that the spring loaded arm is not the best. I already knew this and had installed a quarter inch tread into my microphone stand that I had on hand. The mic stand works perfectly to get any angle you want and any height needed to be free standing and not have to worry about shaky table issues. That was my solution to the issue of an arm that is shaky to begin with by virtue of design.I also used a longer HDMI cable that I got of Amazon with a 90 degree adapter to keep the cable in line with the microphone arm. The original 4 footer was not quite long enough for the task at hand here. The longer HDMI cable gives you more flexibility to maneuver the camera angles, etc.The mini LED lights are a nice touch to use with the USB port of my oscilloscope to aid in some lighting when needed. I already had my own LED toys but it always helps to have more in your collection. When capturing an image at 48 mega pixels, the image has plenty of pixels to magnify on your computer screen after you transferred the file from the micro SD card on to your PC to work with. The lens seemed to be perfect for focus in the center of the screen but on the ends it would drop off with the sharpness of the captured visuals. May be do to the properties of the Lens. The other thing I don't like is that the lens does not have a glass cap to block fumes of soldering from contaminating the optics in the tube. I plan to source something for it soon. I would recommend a small fan to move the air while soldering in proximity with speed control to not force too much air.I attached few photos showing the ability of the camera to capture the gap of my caliper showing the thickness of a piece of paper at 0.004" thick. Also a photo of a 3 volt bulb showing the filament at a distance of 4 inches from the lens. It complements my magnifying glass. There is also a picture showing how one centimeter can be stretched across your screen.I am not totally thrilled with this purchase being the second camera after the first one had same results with the USB port. I don't seem to have good support with the vendor so far on these matters. I was offered a download of the manual going through Amazon communication with the vendor. The manual needs to be improved in my view.I gave it a 3 out of 5 because of the following, no app software, no manual, USB issue with Windows 7, No glass cap for optics, No retaining of clock settings after few days, No ability to change crosshair colors, and Not hearing back from Vendor after explained these issues. Maybe they can put up a you-tube video for some of us to get additional support on product.

Just fired it up. It is connected to a 27inch 1080p monitor. I am using this camera to solder small parts onto a PC board (SMD devices). At about 1 foot from the lens to the work it has the perfect magnification for what I need to do and compared to a couple of other cameras I have tried, this one has a very clear image. The boom is surprisingly sturdy. The clamp hold the boom securely to my work surface and it is fairly easy to move the boom. Sort of wish the HDMI cable was a bit longer, but hey, does the job.

I bought this product for the 1080p video output, which as best as I can tell in the product description is both via HDMI or USB.HDMI works - USB does not give me a camera option. Not sure if the thing needs SD card to be plugged in before giving me a webcam option or not.Language change setting only works for the language change option, it doesn't affect the rest of the menu settings, so I can't read what functions I'm changing, leaving me almost entirely stuck with defaults.Outside of that, the performance is what I expected.

Ordered this to do console repair / mods. Was a bit skeptical because there weren’t any real pictures of what the detail looks like when magnified, but this camera & lens combo did NOT disappoint! You can zoom in extremely close and still be able to focus the image with the adjustable lens. The menu is easy to navigate through and it surprisingly offers many options for adjusting the image (frame rate, auto exposure, white balancing, etc). This is also relatively compact for what it’s able to do!I would ask anyone who is on the fence about this camera to use my review as a testimony of positivity!

I was able to complete my work with this setup but not without annoyances. The arm for this is really weak and the camera is constantly bouncing around from light movement on the desk. Just the action of my hand slighting moving as I solder had the camera shaking with me constantly grabbing the thing to make it stop moving. The focal window is also very small with this camera so if it starts moving, you go out of focus easily. I found myself constantly needing to refocus this camera. You either need a desk that has literally zero movement to it or this needs to be mounted to something off the desk or it's going to be bouncing around while you're working. My second complaint is the lighting. This is advertised as having great, non-reflective lighting and it doesn't. The lighting is cool white LEDs instead of being warm white as they appear in the photo. These types of cool white LEDs have bad reflection and makes everything look like you're taking a picture with the flash on. I don't care for the LED lighting this came with this and feel it often gets in the way of my work if I want to position it where half the board isn't in the dark. It be a lot better if there was an LED ring attached to the camera instead. This is something I'll look into adding. This is the only arm clamp microscope I can find on Amazon so I'll keep and use it, but there is absolutely room for improvement. Better lighting and stronger arm that doesn't move would make this a great purchase. One last gripe is there's no way to power it off short of unplugging it. A power off switch seems like something pretty standard so I didn't consider it. Unplugging the power from the camera itself is a bad idea, as you'll slowly damage the power port and cable. I have this unit plugged into a power strip for my whole workbench so killing the entire power switch to turn the camera off isn't ideal. I'm going to look into buying an AC adapter to give the camera an individual off-switch. I should not be looking into buying and constructing all these things when the camera costs nearly $200. The price is kind of ridiculous.

This was the only proper C Mount microscope kit that was available at the time that I placed my order. It was a bit out of my price range but I decided to go ahead with the order as I might as well get something that I'd not have to upgrade in a few months. The order came about a week sooner than estimated and was packaged well. Everything was as described and I'm very happy with the quality of the camera. These cameras tend to get a bad rap on aliexpress for there being a lot of fakes and clones that are using inferior camera sensors. This appears to be genuine and I am amazed at how well it works for smd soldering. My only disappointment is in the arm as it is very cheap metal and due to that it has a tendency to shake a small amount whereas a heavier gauge steel arm would have enough weight to lessen the vibrations. It's still usable but I may at some point upgrade that part. The rest of the kit is very good quality. I was also pleasantly surprised that it came with a 12v power adapter. The product description didn't mention that being included and i was fully prepared to have to use one that I have already but it did come with one so that's a nice bonus. The cord is a bit short at only around 4 feet but it's not a deal breaker. The light is of good quality too and being able to position the light to not cast a shadow on my piece is a bonus. The one message I have for the seller is to update the information on the page as the item did not in fact ship from the USA. I knew by the delivery estimate that it was coming from China but this could be seen as misleading to other people who were expecting it from the USA. I received my order to Canada in about a week so it came much quicker than expected. All in all, again I'm very happy with the item and will be using it for all my soldering projects going forward.
