This unit fit well. I had to use the existing wing nut because the one that came with it was a bit short.

I gave this 5 stars because of the warranty and the fact that my stove, a 2015 Quadrafire Mt Vernon, fired right up! It arrived quickly considering the snow we got the last couple of days always slows shipping. I ordered 2 but only received one so far but the tracking number is still alive so no worries. For the device itself, only time will tell. I starting to take a closer look at the multitude of elements on the market. This one is slightly different in that the bracket that holds the element and fastener is only about a 1/3 as thick as the other defunct elements I have here. It does not clamp tight around the element either. That could be a good thing or bad, only time will tell. Also, note that the thumbscrew it a cheaper version of those elements I wore out. Lastly, I noted that the female connectors on the wires do not fit as tightly as the ones on the elements. I have worked with that kind of stuff most of my life. I built fire trucks, and we used airplane grade, then high grade heat shrink connectors and only crimped with Forman approved crimpers. I designed , built and installed a lot of pump panels. these had cheap feel and look to them, I should have changed them but I've been screwing around with this stove since christmas . I had a 300w element for a spare and it only lasted 3 days before it shorted out internally. We have very good , clean power here , which made a noticeable difference in the performance in my audio equipment. When they first put the new substation in I measured up to 130vac. With new construction is usually are 125ac. I live in a high wind area and everything they change gets beefed up to survive the violent weather we used to have here before the crazy climate change we have because we don't show out planet the love mother earth deserves. But I digress, I didn't pull back the flame proof insulation to look at the crimp. I had one element go bad because of bad treatment of the wire in that area. It had been smashed into the connector so hard it damaged the strands of wire, which eventually broke all but two strands. I could figure out why I was getting smoke but fire until I pulled back the insulation and saw the damaged done by poor manufacturing procedure. That's about it . The place my pellet stove at wanted $89.95 for a new igniter. I laughed out loud. My stove ran fine and even relit itself by dumping hot pellets into the collection tray. A bit scary but kept me from have to relit as often as the thermostat was satisfied. The brand of pellets I use were made at a new facility after they old one burnt to the ground. I had to turn down my flame height control as low as it would go to stop the howling. An eventful season to say the least and expensive heating cost make me think I should have put in natural gas or lp as both are cheaper than electric or wood pellets. Such is life.....
