AEM intake systems are designed, tuned, and dyno-tested to fit specific cars and trucks. These air intakes usually include an oversized AEM Dryflow synthetic washable air filter for outstanding air flow, filtration, and performance while allowing easy oil-free cleaning. Most AEM intake systems use mandrel-bent aluminum intake tubes, powder coated heat shields, and high quality hardware designed to reduce restriction and reduce intake temperature. this breather really helped my truck. it wasn't that hard to install, it took longer to take my old intake off then it took to put the new one on. this unit is worth the money. I installed it on a 1998 toyota Tacoma.

Works for a 1996 Toyota Tacoma 2.4L 2RZ. I bought this intake because of the price. Surprisingly good quality parts. No real fit issues, it was pretty simple to install. Does it make more power? Feels like it in the higher rpm range. I installed a Pace setter header (70-1181) at the same time, so not sure which is making the extra power.

I purchased this intake for my 1999 Tacoma extended cab with the 3RZ, 2.7L engine. My original intake's flexible tubing was falling apart and the air filter housing was cracked. The intake came as described and the installation instructions were complete and detailed enough. Installation was easy except for removing one of the truck's original tubes attached to the factory intake pipe. It was very difficult to remove it from the throttle body because of the tight space it was in, but once it was off, the AEM replacement fit in place with less trouble. Once installed, the intake worked fine. I have a LC Engineering race header and a Bosal cat-back exhaust system. With these other parts, the truck definitely performs better, with sharper acceleration, more low-end torque, and more power climbing hills both on the highway and off road. I don't know if I gained any gas mileage improvement from the intake, all I have done since i installed it is winter driving and few highway miles. This intake is not as nice as more expensive ones, but for the price it was pretty good so I would recommend it as a budget upgrade.
