This model is made with a heavy-duty cast iron base, with predrilled slots that secure your tool in place and allow mounting of most bench grinders from 5"- 10". With an adjustable table height from 28"- 36", this stand is compatible to provide support at different heights and improves stability by preventing wobbling during operation.

The only reason I made this purchase was to have a nice in my garage that doesn’t have a room for a bench. This will not mount a vice unless you drill additional holes on the plate. They should not make this a grinder/ vice stand when it is not at all set up for a vice!

Used the stand to place my bench vise on. Worked really well for the application.

I bought this for our long dinning table as support for the middle section, I like it is adjustable. It provides great support.

I bought this stand to mount a vise. So my engineers may have an adjustable height vise to perform various torque studies. Because of the large base, I was optimistic thinking I might be able to apply up to 20 ft/lbs. After receiving this product and inspecting it, I'm not even going to set it up. IT IS DANGEROUS. There is no positive locks to prevent the stand from falling from max to minimum height. very little twist to overcome the notches in the tube that establish the different heights. My first photo show the poor weld nut and how the settings used actually burned through the tube. Second photo is of the base where, no matter how tight you make the set screws on the base, the pipe will still wiggle, twist, and move. Final photo show how thin material is and just me knit picking... Inside diameter full of rust. I would return, but company procurement system is not user friendly... to the recycle bin this goes.

I needed a portable stand to be able to clamp on brush hog blades and grind them down. While one of the first (and appropriate) warnings about this stand is to bolt the pedestal to the floor, the stand was plenty stable for my needs and wonderfully portable. I do like the ability to adjust the height as well. I did not yet mount a vise or grinder on the top but simply clamped the blades directly to the top plate and it worked fine.

Not too shabby! I actually took a risk and purchased this stand. I figured what the heck it’s not too expensive and if it doesn’t work for my intended use, surely it would come in handy for something else. Pleasantly surprised by its complete usefulness and stability. Easy to put together. If you plan to use this at a tall height then the recommended anchoring to the floor is something to consider for better/more stability. If you plan to place this on uneven floors, sure it’s going to wobble, as any table or stand would on an uneven surface .

It's pretty functional and stout after you bold it to the floor. Every things seems to be in the right place, and the grinder mounted right up to it. Their were many other slots for different grinder bolt down configurations from different mfg co's. The only one down fall that I can see is it could probably be a little taller. I'm only 5' 9" tall and it's short for me! I might consider replacing the stand pipe with something a little longer.I'm sure it'll be supported.
