HOW TO TELL IF THE AIR SUSPENSION COMPRESSOR IS BROKEN?
If your car is riding lower than usual, making abnormal sounds, or the compressor doesn't work, you may need to replace the air suspension compressor.
WHAT IS AN AIR SUSPENSION COMPRESSOR?
The air system works by pumping compressed air into air bags or springs made of textile-reinforced rubber via compressed air lines. The air compressor is an electric or engine-driven pump that’s usually attached to the car frame and found under the hood. It draws in outside air, compresses it, and uses the compressed air to fill the air springs to “lift” the vehicle’s chassis from the axle.

So far so good. I replaced the pump in my 2011 Armada Platinum. It was a really easy install and has seemed to fix a slow leak I had in my rear air shocks. The previous pump would lose air after being parked and then pump it back up after starting the car. Seems to have been a leak in the valve inside of the previous pump as it did not seem to be leaking from the fittings. Hopefully I am good to go for a while.

Nissan Armada 2012 Platinum. The crappy Dorman compressor which I fitted less than 3 years ago had failed, I only realized this when I was working on something else and it kicked in with a horrendous noise and clearly wasn't doing its job. I hunted down this replacement and it was priced well and seemed to offer a level of confidence in its build quality and operation. It fitted perfectly and was very good quality, it fired up almost immediately and most of all it was quiet (i remember when it was working that the Dorman one was way nosier). Overall very pleased with this unit we will see if it lasts longer.
