Our primary bedroom is always hotter or colder than the rest of the house. So I thought it might be helpful to get this to help monitor the temperature fluctations. What I didn't expect was discovering how much built-up CO2 there was in the room!Mu husband and I had been having headaches and not getting a lot of sleep. Turns out, the CO2 was like 1400 in the room! No wonder! I opened the windows and let the room air out and it dropped right back down into the normal/safe zone.Just this alone is helpful to keep an eye on the air quality in the room and ensure we have a healthy room to sleep in. I am thankful I grabbed this, because now I can better monitor the quality of the air in the bedroom and ensure we're not putting ourselves at uncessary risk.

It was important to me that the device would last a long time on batteries (they promise 1 year here). Because if you have a battery that needs to be charged every week, then, after a couple I just forget about it. Not been a year yet, but so far so good :)The screen could be brighter, but hell, it's a great price for a real co2 sensor, not an imitation

Pros: price, real co2 sensor for the price, speed at which it reacts to changes in co2 level, about once a second, long battery life and no need to charge.Cons: no wifi and no app. If you need it (I don't), prepare to pay at least 3 times more.

I did some research before buying and I specifically looked for a CO2 monitor with a Swedish sensor, since it offers much better accuracy and significantly lower power consumption - enough to run on batteries for quite a while. It is definitely NOT easy to find a device with that kind of sensor for under $100. I’m really happy with the purchase overall, I did need to calibrate it on the first day tho (it is simple and recommended by everyone).

I have an air quality monitoring system that provides what this does and more although it's larger and not as easily deployed remotely. I got a bit scared when I first put in the batteries as this went into the redzone. I checked the instructions on how to calibrate. I took it outside and put in calibration mode, and it was now in the green zone but when I brought it inside it went to the yellow zone. I had the central gas heater on so I thought it could be a problem. I crosschecked this with my other meter, and both were in the yellow zone range. I turned off the heater and set it to fan. I left it like that for an hour or so, and both units were tracking in the 600 range or green.Instructions say if in red zone to open all ventilation immediately and air things out. In yellow you want to open doors to let in some outside air. I figured if the issue came from the gas furnace it would be alleviated if I turned off the furnace which I had. I have a Carbon monoxide detector as well, and I tested it, but it was in the green zone. I turned the furnace back on to see what would happen and strangely both my sensors stayed in the green range around 600. I had considered calling the gas company to check my furnace but without direct evidence, I didn't have a good reason. So, after checking again this morning both were in the green and I picked up this one to examine the meter more closely. It started shooting up to yellow then well into the red zone. Oops, now I get it I was breathing too close to a very sensitive meter, and the CO2 I was exhaling was spiking the reading. I probably could have saved time by reading about the meter in the instructions, but I didn't. Fortunately, I didn't have to call out the repairman. I'm still curious why my other meter was reading into the 900s, but it has not gone back there with the furnace on. Maybe I got too close to it without realizing it and spiked it as well. Meter is fairly sensitive to changes which is good, price could be better. Recommended.

This isn’t my first CO₂ monitor, and I believe it’s often hard to tell when to ventilate a room, especially with an AC or heater running. The biggest issue with models under $100 is that they often have cheap Chinese sensors that (a) aren’t accurate and (b) consume a lot of power, requiring frequent recharging. The Airtoo’s measurements are as accurate as those of my Aranet4, which is significantly more expensive. The fact that the batteries have barely drained over time suggests that there truly is a Swedish NDIR sensor inside, not a Chinese equivalent. Highly recommended! Also, don’t forget to read the instructions and calibrate it outdoors. This isn’t always necessary but is often recommended.
