Comparing with the traditional book standing, the adjustable bookends are designed for use on bookshelves. The thumb screw knob at the bottom reasonably disperse the pressure of the books and adviods structural problems such as sliding, bendikng and fracture.

The bottom of the bookend can be freely adjusted to fit 0.2 - 1.5 inch thick wood shelves.

These heavy duty bookends are practical and space efficient. This is the first time that I've used this style and I'm impressed with how well they work. My order included 2 steel bookends with a matte black finish and a sleek minimalist design. They are strong and durable and complement any room decor. I like that these bookends are designed to hold all size and thickness of books and are ready to use. The price is very reasonable for such a superior product.

I love the look of these bookends, and love that they clamp to the shelf, but I think a full shelf of books are beyond what they were made for. They can hold about a dozen or so in place, but not much more. Good looking, slightly bendy, but useful as long as they aren't holding a lot of weight.

I ordered these to use on closet shelves. I don't like how clunky the bottom piece is that screws in. Very cute design on top and I like the overall look. They are build well

It just bends as soon as you start to screw it onto your shelf. Literally useless and expensive to boot.

They are flimsy, don't work as advertised. Metal is too thin at the hinge point and bends when screwing into place. Will pivot even when fully tightened. You'd think that having something screw down into place would be able to support some weight... Sadly, these don't.Would have been better if metal was not so thin and unable to flex when screwed down.***Anybody that rated these with anything more than 3 stars must be using them to support books that are 6in tall and can stand on their own.

Check yoour product so that it has all parts; some of mine were loose in the bag it was packaged in.This is a unique item that will keep your books in place even in a minor earth quake. (lol).

I really like these. I have “industrial” type pipe bookshelves and these metal book ends work and look great. They also take up very little space and that’s what I needed because I have so many books and my shelves are pretty full.
