Antique Brass Marine Master Box
A vintage Marine Master Box navigational instrument by T. Cooke & Sons of London. The box features walnut construction and houses a compass, miniature telescope, navigational scale with chart, two bubble levels, an alidade, and a boat Clinometer. The compass and clinometer can be locked into place when not in use. The instruments are in brass, with a brass plate to the lid.

This item is cute but you get what you pay for. If you want a decorative trinket to go with a nautical them, it’ll do. The metal plates were crooked and didn’t lay flat. I had to remove the tiny nails, flatten out the metal pieces and reattach. Cheaply made!!!!

Beau boitier pour cet objet strictement décoratif. Composantes "CHEAP" et mal assemblées. Les plastic brouillés pour les orifices d'optique dévaluent le coté utilitaire du produit. Le NORD de la boussole n'est pas aligné à un coté du boitier pour la rendre utile. Il y a 2 nivaux dans cet instrument à vocation maritime ???? (un bateau ça bouge tout le temps) Rapport qualité/prix très bas. Prix trop élevé...

This looked great for a gift I wanted to give a coworker as a going-away commemorative. Item shipped fast and arrived quickly. Unfortunately, as the photos will show, the box is poorly constructed and fairly 'cheap.' The lid doesn't sit flush with the base and it leaves a gap; secondly, when I opened the lid, all of the instruments inside were rattling around and the compass seemed like it wasn't even glued down. And I am not sure if it matters much, but the instruments weren't made of brass - they seemed more like a cooper-alloy material. Had to return it for a refund. Pretty disappointing.
