They don't expand as much as I anticipated. I'm using them for duck and goose call construction. The wood gives a little in the expansion and thus the blank rotates on the mandrel.

Very little expantion not well made but what can you expct for the price.

If you tighten them just enough to hold an object it strips the threads on the tension screw.

The 1/4" mandrel actually had wood particles in between the expanding slots, looks like it had beenused before. I purchased this as new.
