One time our little Rav got stuck in the sand and since then I've been paranoid to drive in certain terrain. Having this traction mat gives us some added security that if it should happen again, we may have a way out of the situation that isn't as stressful as our last time. Heavy duty materials and good size, plus it folds small to keep tucked under a seat for whenever we encounter an emergency. Like I said, we (thankfully) have not had opportunity to test this, but from all evidence, I'm confident it will do its job. For less than 20 bucks, it's good cheap insurance.

We had a little over 8 inches of snow. The snow plow blocked the driveway and my daughter had to get to work. We expected tops 3 inches and didn't prepare for 8. We helped dig but it was too much snow. I finally remembered I had ordered these traction mat tire grips. I knew they were made of plastic and worried that being plastic the tires would slip off. They unfold when removed from the box and although they feel sturdy I didn't think they would work as in the past I had metal traction mats that worked beautifully. It took shoveling snow and trying these before we got the car out on the street. It took us a few tries before we figured out the best way to use these and get the car over the two feet of snow the snowplow threw down the entire street on both sides. If we had not used these traction mats it would have taken a couple of hours to get her out instead of about 45 minutes. These work and they didn't break from underneath a 2000-pound automobile. I put these in the back of the SUV where they will stay until winter ends.
