I have a Squire FSR Classic Vibe 70's thinline Telecaster which comes as standard with a metal pickguard. I wanted to do the 4 way switching mod on the guitar, but this will not work if the pickguard is metal. I bought this Alnicov pickguard as it looked OK and had 12 holes like my existing pickguard. I was expecting to have to do some work filling existing holes in the guitar body where they didn't line up and redrilling for the new ones, and having to do some work profiling around the neck pickup and the bridge.I was to be very pleasantly surprised. Every hole was perfect, the pickguard fitted without and reshaping required and the guitar went back together again with ease.Why not 5 stars then? Well, the shielding on the reverse is almost not existent, there was a slight convex bow in the material and the plastic is a little soft. Still, at this price, it's a cheap item to replace again if it gets tatty.The 4 way switch mod is definitely worth the effort, should you fancy another tonal option.I hope you find this review helpfull
