I absolutely love these!! They broke in very easily completed a 15 mile hike and thanks to the wide tow box there were no blisters or rubbing. I personally love the navy blue boot with the light blue laces. They were lightweight and durable, we went through a little bit of water and my feet did stay dry.

I purchased these in April 2023, just about a year ago now. I like the zero drop, the room in the toe box, and the cushion underfoot. I was worried at first because I noticed a crease in the toe area when I would bend my foot, and it would actually dig into the top of my toes. I’m happy to say that with time and normal wear that crease ceased to be a problem. They also keep my feet quite warm in cold weather (I also wear wool socks).I like the fit and feel, but I’m knocking off a star for the following reasons:1.) The waterproofing, which I can confirm did exist at first, has somehow worn off. When they first arrived I tested them by standing in the intercostal for a few minutes and my feet stayed dry. Fast forward a year and now I cannot stand still in water at all without feeling dampness on my socks. It seems to be worse on the right foot for some reason. I can cross shallow creeks really quickly but I can’t let the shoe become saturated.2.) This is a little obvious from the way the shoe fits, but the top near the ankle is fairly loose. What I mean is not that it affects ankle support, but that debris like dirt, rocks, grass stick, etc. can easily slide in through the top of the shoe. When you are on the trail in the mountains, it’s not really an issue, but if you want to go anywhere in taller grasses you will find yourself stopping to remove itchy things from down inside your shoe.We sold our house last July and have since been traveling around the United States. I have worn these shoes on all types of terrain from grassy fields to steep wet rocky paths to the beach. I have worn them every week, but I take care of them I always try and clean them off at the end of each day and put them away on the shelf, they are never left outside or kicked around or shoved in a bag. Despite the flaws I mentioned above, I continue to wear them as they are comfortable for walking around on a nice sunny day. But after my experiences, I am glad that I did not buy them as my only hiking shoes.

I own a couple of pairs of these exact shoes. I wear them on average 100 miles a week. This particular pair has some issues and I'm not sure why. Unlike my other pairs, these hit my big toe joint where it connects to the rest of my foot. They look exactly like my other pairs, but seem to be a defect. Disappointed.

I'm a big fan of Altra Lone Peak. Big toe box, super light, and very pretty. The only thing I have to pick with this particular pair is that it doesn't clean easily. Normally, I can just run my sneakers under full on bathtub faucet and all the dirt runs off, but not this particular pair (and I think it's my sixth pair of Altra Lone Peaks)

This is my second pair in the last 3 years. Great traction, durable, water resistant. I have walked through puddles and low streams and my feet never got wet. They are very comfortable and do not cause pain. I have hiked in these boots 8 plus hours a day with no issues. I have hikers toe, but I have learned how to do different ties to avoid issues.

I purchased these for my pregnant wife as her normal hiking boots were making her feet uncomfortable (16ish weeks along). E we were going to be back packing the Grand Canyon so I wanted something that would work for her and the 20+ miles we would be hiking. She loved these, she said they were really comfortable, didn’t require any time to break in, kept her dry through very minimal water crossings, and had lots of space in the toe box. She did say that they were tight in the forefoot/arch area, but loosened up with string adjustment and miles. They are comfortable enough that she would wear them as an everyday shoe. As far as traction goes, they weren’t great on wet rock, and don’t do great in our temperate forest climate here in the Midwest, but were great for the dusty/sandy climate in Arizona/utah/nevada.

I bought these for a hunting trip in the northern New Mexico mountains. These shoes took no breaking in. I put them on and hiked miles for a week. It was very dry so I can’t say anything to how well they do in moisture. But as far as comfort, these shoes are great. Tip for lacing them up: lift / point your toes up while lacing make for a great comfortable fit on your ankles. True to size.
