This AC/DC TIG welder is a great value for the price. It has all the functions I need for welding aluminum and other non-ferrous metals.

Background: With over 12 years of welding experience, I previously owned a $2K+ industrial TIG welder purchased from a physical store. When I needed to replace my TIG welder AC/DC for field work, I discovered Haxiaoer's HXT200P. After comparing multiple options, I chose this affordable machine because the store specializes in welders and has genuinely reliable reviews on their other welding machines, which convinced me of their brand quality.I finally decided to purchase. After about two weeks of intensive use on aluminum trailers and stainless steel art projects, this $500 machine completely won me over. What I Love:✅ POWERHOUSE IN A COMPACT BODYThis 31-lb beast handles 0.8mm thin aluminum sheets to 1/4" steel like a champ. The AC pulse + square wave tech eliminates that ugly gray oxidation on aluminum welds – my client thought I used a $3K Fronius!✅ 7-IN-1 FLEXIBILITY = $$$ SAVEDSwitching between DC TIG (stainless), AC TIG (aluminum), stick welding, and pulse modes takes seconds. Did a combo job last week: aluminum boat repair (AC) → stainless railing (DC pulse) → quick ARC welding on farm equipment. No more renting multiple machines!✅ IDIOT-PROOF (EVEN FOR NEWBIES)The massive LED screen shows EVERY parameter: pre-flow gas, up/down slope, AC frequency balance (life-saver for clean aluminum beads). My apprentice nailed his first aluminum weld thanks to the visual guides!2T/4T modes are golden for long welds. Set the trigger once and focus on your hand motion – zero crater cracks on exhaust pipes.✅ FIELD-READY TOUGHNESSDual cooling fans let me weld non-stop for 3+ hours (tested in 95°F Texas heat). My old machine would’ve tripped the breaker twice.Included WP26 torch has a comfy heat-resistant grip. No more burnt gloves during overhead welds!✅ THEY BACK THEIR PRODUCT5-year warranty on a $500 welder? Unheard of.Customer service actually KNOWS welding. I emailed at 10 PM about argon flow settings and got a detailed reply with screenshots in 20 mins.Real-World TestingProject 1: 0.12" aluminum boat hull patch → Used 80Hz AC frequency to focus the arc. Almost zero grinding needed – the weld blended perfectly.Project 2: Custom stainless BBQ smoker → DC pulse at 120 PPM gave me Instagram-worthy stacked dimes. Clients thought I charged extra for "artisan finishes." 😎Minor NitpicksThe ground clamp works fine but feels lightweight compared to my Miller’s. I’ll upgrade it for heavy fab work (not a dealbreaker).A carry case would be nice for the cables/torch. I used a Milwaukee Packout to organize everything.Final VerdictWHO SHOULD BUY THIS:Home fabricators wanting pro results without pro pricesMobile welders needing a lightweight yet powerful rigShops looking for a backup machine that won’t collect dustWHY IT’S WORTH IT:This isn’t a "cheap Amazon welder" – it’s a legit industrial tool disguised as affordable. The pulse controls alone outperform machines twice its price. I’ve already convinced two welding buddies to buy it. For $600 with a 5-year safety net? No brainer.PRO TIP: Pair it with a good argon regulator for buttery-smooth arcs.
