The up cut router bits are are designed for aluminum cutting. The double flute bits provide a smooth finish when grooving and slotting than the single flute router bit. Use the aluminum bits for cutting Fomex with Aluminum Face, Sheet, Block and Plate Aluminum, Aluminum 5052, and Wood.

Amana spiral upcut router bit is a great quality bit I used recently to help speed up the removal of timber material in large mortise joints while constructing my workbench . I’d stay away from the mark lines when using it , to avoid any splintering then finish off to the lines with a sharp chisel. Don’t try and remove too much material in one go. Comes in a protective case, arrived pretty quick. I’m starting to get small collection of Amana products.

This is, to my knowledge, the only 3/4" spiral bit available in a 1/2" shank. The cut quality was unbelievable, no tear out. I so wish I could get the same bit in carbide for better longevity.

I ordered this bit for drilling 3/4” bench dog holes in 1-1/2” butcher block work bench. I read all the reviews and saw mixed reviews and I was hesitant on ordering. I figured if I got a bad one, I would just return it.The bit I received was sealed in a plastic tube I had to cut open and was razor sharp. I verified the part number then put it in my Bosch 1617EVS router and drilled some holes on a scrap piece of butcher block. It went through the hardwood like a hot knife through butter. I found that if I stabilize the router position using a clamped 90 degree brace the drilled hole was as perfect as I have seen. No blow out and perfectly round and perpendicular. What else can I say. I got a good one..

Not sure if I got a fake bit, or Amana's quality control has just gone downhill, but I bought this for starting dog holes in my bench. It started burning and turned the bit black in seconds. Barely cuts now it's so dull. I don't think I was trying to be too aggressive - I've since bought some Whiteside bits and they handled the task fine.

Terrible product. sold as up spiral but delivered a down spiral. Burned out during first dog hole. I know maple is hard but this is literally the worst router bit I have ever purchased. save your money.

I used this bit, as many will likely do, to bore holes in my wooden workbench, for my 3/4 inch steel holdfasts and dowel rods. It worked perfectly. I bored over 30 holes, and the bit performed wonderfully, and I expect it will make many more workbench holes in the future!

Perfect for making 3/4 dog holes. Little to no tear out on the backside, didn’t need a backing board.
