I purchased with the intention of adding my existing ip cameras because product support ain’t was possible. Unfortunately I found out this was not the case and had to order a whole new system. I did go with Amcrest though.

This review is definitely not a long term review, I had this unit less than 24 hours before I decided it wasn't going to stick around.Overall quality is low.Usability is poor. The support web site is... mediocre. The manual is frustratingly generic and doesn't cover many features. And I never found how to enable the key advertised features I needed.I never got PoE to work. The unit might have been broken/DOA, but all of the above factors were bad enough that I decided it wasn't worth the energy to find out. I was already decided on returning.I bought this because my research wasn't coming up with a clear best option to purchase and this company had slightly better Amazon ratings. (Not that Amazon ratings mean much these days...) Almost everything I researched seemed closely matched. Ironically, after purchasing this unit and having to research how to setup and configure it, I found much better options exist and are price competitive. It's an aged design that hasn't been updated in a while. Based on dates I'm seeing on the web site, I would guess it was designed 10 years ago, give or take.Web interface only works with Internet Explorer. (Yeah, good ol' IE!) Internet Explorer hasn't been around for years. So that was first challenge/quirk: getting a browser to emulate IE... And requires you to install Sketchy plugins. Then after installing their plugins my other web browsers started getting uppity and throwing warnings at me. The plugin install process was automated to the point I thought "what did that thing just do?" and then on top of that, even after installing the plugin, the web interface continued to prompt me to install the plugin at every login. The Manual covers about 20 different models, this is just one. I guess that most of this company's models run on common software. Manual doesn't cover basic features like PoE. Only mentions they exist on some models and that you can use it.Power over Ethernet is theoretically supported on this model. The manual didn't instruct on how to enable. I know it wasn't functioning because the cameras weren't powering up but they did power up when using an external PoE switch. Either PoE was not functioning, or it was disabled and I was never able to find the setting in the UI that would enable. When I used the PoE switch, the unit did find my cameras. But I stopped there. I was done. I returned the unit less than 24 hours after it arrived.Summary: 5 hours to try and setup. That was 5 hours to (1) skim the manual, (2) plug everything in, (3) research why the web interface wouldn't work, (4) get the web interface to kinda work, (5) wonder why none of the cameras were powering up and troubleshoot that, (6) try to find a solution to enable PoE to get the cameras to power up, (7) box it up and start the return process w/ Amazon.

The product has been easy to use. When I needed support, I called the online support number and all of my issues were solved promptly (Jessica is great!). The product works great, I can access my cameras via my dedicated monitor, by PC and with my iPhone.

I ordered this NVR & did a self install. I was encountering some issues, so I called Tech Support & Henry was very helpful. He was patient with the process, went through each setting, each camera & made sure that they were showing up as I wanted them to. Also, help me set up access on phone & on a remote computer. Thank you

I still don't understand how to use the thing... They really should redo the software because it's super unintuitive and not easy to use. The hardware is great.
