This scroll rod pair is for use in the E-Z Oak Frame when you don't want to buy a whole new frame but need the wider or narrower widths for needle arts projects when an embroidery hoop just won't do! Simply attach needle project to the 1/2in scroll rods using sticky back hook tape (not included) to keep work taut and scroll project easily as needed. This package contains two 14 inch rods (for projects that are either 14 Inch wide or long) with loop tape already attached. Made in USA.

* I prefer the old style which had larger, 5/8" diameter rods. These are only 1/2" diameter.* I also wish they still had the original woven strapping instead of the Velcro.* By using the Velcro, it forces you to sacrifice some of your fabric (and that Velcro) when you remove it from the frame. By basting your fabric onto the strapping, you don't have that waste.* The only practical use of the Velcro would be if your fabric and frame were so wide that it wouldn't be possible to run it through a sewing machine.

I needed a smaller width scroll rod to go with my American Dream scroll frame. Would love more sizes perhaps future purchases.

I've become married to American Dream products lately. Their scroll frames were the first scroll frames I'd ever used that I didn't hate. I've bought rods in a variety of sizes, up to 36 inches, and love them all. The screws on the ends are nice and secure, and haven't once given me the impression that they were going to fall off. The velcro tape does not go completely around them, which is not a huge deal, but I did buy some more to increase the surface area of the loop tape on the rods to make them that much easier to use.Unlike most non-baste scroll frames, these ones do not warp or twist because of the velcro system. The entire frame stays perfectly flat and level, without needing to be constantly twisted to stay that way. Because the rods aren't split like with a lot of other brands, you're not going to be fiddling around with constantly adjusting your tension. The velcro holds onto your project securely, and the screws on the ends of the rods don't let them slip loose the way scroll frames that clamp the rods tend to do. The rods are also solid and sturdy, and don't want to bend much even with full tension.I love American Dream's frames, and cannot recommend them enough.
