I got this for my father to replace his TV stand and his space heater so he would have both in one and save space in his living room area. The assembly is the biggest obstacle but once you have it together, it works great, provides ample heat for a room and has a nice, realistic flame effect. I am happy with this purchase (as is he)!

First of all, i got this on a daily deal, so was over $100 below for what it normally lists as. Is an excellent piece of furniture. Am good at assembling this stuff and it still took me 2 hours. Directions are clear, everything is labled, none of it is difficult just tedious. Once assembled, it feels and looks sturdy. You will need a screwgun, directions say different but have one ready. Is really the only tool you will need, set it on the slowest speed though. It puts out a ton of heat and is quiet, the flame looks realistic, am impressed. Remote is simple to use and works well. The fire place part would be a pain in the butt to replace but is doable if needed. My 50" tv fits perfect, not sure how well a larger TV would look on it. All in all, am very pleased with my purchase and would whole heartedly recommend it to anyone looking for such a unit. Oh, one last thing, need a lot of room to assemble. Half the assembly process is preparing the pieces to be put together, so need space to lay them out. If you buy one, you will be pleased.

Took us 4 hours to assemble. Had to partially disassemble twice. No written instructions just drawings. Several parts were mislabelled. But once assembled is very nice and stable. I think the fire could be brighter and the fan blowing out heat needs to be stronger. Other than that great product once assembled.

I was able to assemble this by myself in about 2.5 hours (and only walking away in frustration once). I made the mistake of not putting a blanket down before assembly and did end up scratching the top a bit. I recommend a hammer for some of the dowels, as well as adding the cam locks during the same screw steps to save some time. You will also need to hammer in the tiny screws to install the backing, as those holes are not pre-drilled into the unit, and it has to be held off the floor. We love the effects, the remote and different options. It keeps our living room warm, which is a feat for our home. We have a corner wall mounted TV, so we weren't worried about it fitting. Our cats are also enamored by it, and love to watch the "flames" and feel the heat. Overall, we love it!

A few tips on assembling this (and many other items). Get yourself a large old blanket and put it down, this is where you'll assemble the pieces together without scratching it All of the parts will take up a whole two car garage floor. Follow the instructions step-by-step and make sure to have all boards orientated the way they are on the page. Look closely at the drawing for the screw and cam holes so you'll know you have the boards the right side up. Make your life 1000% easier by using a magnetic tip philips screwdriver for the installation of the fireplace. If a wooden dowel sticks out too far then you'll need to cut it down a bit otherwise the pieces would never join together correctly.. I had one where I needed to do this to. The cheap batteries that came with mine were almost dead..this makes the remote not work correctly. New batteries solved it. It is possible to build this by yourself..I did. It is well worth the money. I love it. I also see a lot of comments where people say they can't fit their TV on top. That's because a few years ago nearly every TV maker started using these cheap plastic legs that mount near the ends of the tv. Buy yourself a stand that will mount to the TV like a wall mount would. I have a 65" TV on mine. It sticks out on each side about 5 inches but it doesn't bother me at all. The total weight of the TV with the stand is just below the 60 lbs that the top is made to hold. I would say it could hold more weight without any issue.
