Years ago we lived in tornado alley and had one of these and it was great for when we lost power but over the years it stopped picking up any radio stations. Now we live where we have to worry about both tornadoes and hurricanes. Last year my town was hit with back to back hurricanes and flooding. We were without power for days and weeks each time. This radio is lightweight and small enough to carry in a pocket. It uses 3 AA batteries. It uses an old style attenae to pick up radio stations. Both inside and outside my home the FM stations come in clear and strong. However the AM stations only come in outside our home and they are not clear. This will work for us if we lose power again.

It went straight into our Hurricane tote as soon as I made sure it worked! It is small so it does not take up a lot of storage space. I tried to use the weather radio in years past and we never got the info we needed. it was hard to find the local NOAA station for out area. This year I just get to turn on a local radio station.

This pocket radio is different from most. For starters it's slightly smaller than your average making it even more pocket friendly. This radio uses 3 AA batteries as opposed to the usual 2 so run time should be significantly longer. There are 2 extra wide rollers for volume and tuning, both smooth and easy. The tuning display is large, easy to read, and accurate! Tuning light helpful! The pointer is nice and tight/close to the numbers so it's really easy to use. Stations are received with strong reception and high selectivity on both bands. The FM antenna is nice quality with a swivel base. Using headphones with the 3.5mm jack produces REAL FM stereo!Sound from the built in speaker is decent and clear. Volume can be turned up nearly to max without distortion. This little dude has a solid, high quality feel to it! I recommend you get 2 just because it's such a steal!

Not much to say nothing negative that’s for sure. This radio picks up so many stations once it locks on it’s clear.. I bought this for a friend and they already have several radios myself, but I’m thinking of buying one of these for myself to take fishing in different things like that. Let me make this clear this radio for a $10 bill you could not ask for a better radio. The hardest part was getting the battery cover off to install the three AA batteries but other than that this thing is fantastic.

CONS:- I have another radio of the same size with much better sound, with more volume and clarity for the voices (ZHIWHIS brand, and is even more compact and rechargeable).- Requires 3 AA batteries, which make the device feel heavy.- Power/FM/AM flat toggle switch feels kind of flimsy, I don't think it will be long lasting.PROS:+ Reception is very good, not perfect but still good for both FM and AM bands.+ Rotary dials make it easy and convenient to adjust volume and tune stations.+ 3.5 mm jack, which works very well.

It's your basic pocket sized AM/FM radio. Seems well built for how small it is. I really enjoy it. The single speaker seems to put out a good amount of volume for such a small radio which was surprising. My primary intention was getting this to keep in the storm shelter to stay informed on those spring/early summer storms we get living in tornado alley. Unfortunately, it hasn't found its way to the shelter yet because I'm still too busy taking it everywhere I go just listening to music as I'm out and about. Overall, it's an excellent buy with many uses from, including it in a bug out bag to using in a storm shelter or just having to listen to music.

This is a good, basic, working easy to use pocket AM FM radio. This is simple and basic which is perfect for kids and the elderly. For the elderly, it is just like the radio's we had two generations ago when transistors were a cool thing. A transisor radio meant you had an electronic device that worked without trouble. This Homicial radio is that. This is a basic radio that picks up stations and locks them in and sounds good too. When I say basic, that is a good word. Simple and functional. Just what an economical radio should do. This is a good value radio. This is a good radio for listening to local AM and FM stations. 3 AA batteries last a long time and are easy to get. I use rechargeable AA batteries and they work fine. This is a good radio for emergencies and fit well in an emergency go bag. When trouble comes, it is good basic things we need to get us through dark times. This is a good, simple radio that works well.
