FANTASTIC little transistor radio! I popped a couple of AA batteries in it and was able to tune in FM channels from a hundred miles away, and in the evening, AM channels from 400+ miles away! The 16" antenna compresses down to the side of the radio, and the entire thing fits into the palm of your hand. A PERFECT radio for an emergency box, or your glove box. There is even a 1/8" headphone jack for (your own) headset. For $10 (at the time of this review) don't hesitate to buy this thing. I'm completely impressed with how well it's built and the incredible range it covers!

Haven't seen an AM/FM transistor radio in years. My parents got me one as a kid so I could listen to music and baseball games. This little radio has far better sound quality and FM reception than any transistor radio I've come across and much better than radios way back when. I need something for news and music during power outages after my power packs, phone, and tablet lose charge. This radio is perfect. I got it, put in two AA batteries, and immediately tuned to some of my fave FM radio stations. The sound is great and volume is good, which is surprising considering the radio size and that it has only one front speaker. It's a big plus that it has a flashlight, too. The AM reception isn't as good as FM but I didn't expect it would be in my locale. I just need to hear local updates during bad weather and power outages, then listen to some good music until power comes back on. This radio is exactly what I wanted, but with sound quality I didn't expect at a low price.

With very good FM reception, a clear and easily-visible tuning dial as well as smooth-working, intuitive controls, this is a well-made pocket radio that could suit the needs of many people. Sound quality from the built-in speaker is reasonably good, and there's plenty of volume available for listening outside or in a noisy environment. There is also a pocket clip to make for easy carry, so this radio could be ideal to use on walks or while working. As noted, FM reception is quite good, with enough sensitivity to bring in both local and distant stations clearly. Unfortunately, AM reception is only fair. While you will most definitely receive local and stronger regional AM radio stations clearly, there are other radios this size that will get quite a few more AM stations than this one does. For me this is a shame because I do listen to AM and this radio has so many other things going for it that I wish the AM performance were better. Of course, if you listen exclusively or almost exclusively to FM and only need to be able to pick up nearby AM stations, this may not be a problem for you at all.The radio is powered with two AA batteries, which I like because it makes it more suitable for use as an emergency radio. You can load a couple of alkaline batteries and they will not self-discharge for years, ensuring that the radio is ready to go when you need it. But I did also test this radio with rechargeable AA batteries and it works fine on those as well, so you can go that route if you don't want to buy disposable batteries. Of course, if you do use rechargeables they will need to be charged in a separate charger. The fit and finish of this radio is a cut above that of some others that you find, with controls that are well designed and an overall feeling that it's well put together. As long as you don't need the ability to receive more distant AM stations, this radio is a very good value and an excellent choice.

Sounds great, nice portable radio. Great for if an emergency happens and you need to be able to hear what is going on. Great build and value. Easy to use

This is a portable emergency radio that covers most of the needed radio channels. The light is small, but very bright. Sound if a bit tinny, but understandable. Increasing the volume doesn't clear up the sound, but it can get pretty load so lots of people can hear it. It's easy to use, and small enough to fit anywhere. Do not keep batteries in it.I taped enough (and spares) to the unit for future use. Geat to have, and hope I never need it.

Very nice transistor radio, with ease of use similar to the ones that came out in the mid 1950's, with the added feature of a built-in flashlight. Great sound, on both AM and FM, and it's easy to tune in to your favorite station, and you can easily tweak it with the antenna for best quality sound. This radio runs on two AA batteries, making it portable for taking on hikes or enjoying yourself out in nature. I am very happy with this radio, and I highly recommend it.

Love this radio, I bought it primarily to listen to ballgames on the AM band and it tunes well and holds stations well for a dial tuner. Best 8 bucks I've spent in a while.

The inner workings are simple. Looks hollow inside, but it works. If needing this radio for your emergency kit, this radio is small and it works.
