After three full seasons of a brand new AC system not functioning correctly, this unit coupled with the Turbo 200 capacitor has my unit purring like a kitten. Starting faster, smoother, and quieter than before, and no more start failures as before. Both stages firing as designed, and my unit is now cooling and heating as it should.I am quite pleased and would highly recommend this product!

I have a very old 3 Ton Goodman AC unit that was tripping my breaker every couple of hours. I had already replaced the capacitor(chinese), breaker, contactor, and even the electrical wire but it was still having issues. I did not want to spend a fortune on a new AC at the moment so I researched online and came to the conclusion that my old compressor needed a Hard Start kit. I added this American Made hard start kit and paired it with a capacitor of the same brand. It has been 2 weeks already without any issues so far. This gives me time to save for a new unit until this one dies out on me.

As some reviewers mentioned, the size was a little challenging to find mounting room, but I managed to squeeze it into the service compartment of my 3.5 ton AC unit. Wiring was simple. Instructions are right on the Hard Start unit. Very smooth startup with this unit. I'm impressed. I have a 60's era home with dated wiring. Before I installed this unit there would be a slight current drop when the compressor started up - like an impending brown out. That does not happen since installing the unit. I hardly notice the unit starting up.

Excellent engineering on this made in America product. I love it’s quality and versatility. Works great for both of my 3 ton AC units which were both over-amping on initial start up. They sound and operate much better now and I should get several more years of service from them.

Seller did offer to replaces, requested picture of dent about a half inch deep. Would not refund 8% of purchase price. The biggest drawback is that it uses a zip tie and an uninsulated metal housing. It didn't make a noticable improvement in my case, co struction seems good but I recommend electrical or at least masking tape to insure if it falls it doesn't short out something, in my case a relay on the bottom would be bad.
