Pros: Looks neat, suits my bike nicely (Huffy beach cruiser).Nice and easy to fit, just a wrench to undo the front wheel and a screwdriver to tighten the gauge to the handlebars. Can be set to have the cable feed up the left or right hand side of the wheel (switch ends with the black cap and spin the hub part around to fit).Cons: No instructions, though it's fairly straightforward what goes where. The image on this page does not match what I was shipped. I paid a bit extra because this one showed a thousands odometer. Mine arrived with a hundreds resettable trip meter. (Could be a pro if that's what you want, but you can get the meter I received from elsewhere for less money)It is the least accurate gauge I own. My bicycle has 26 inch wheels, and at 10 mph by the GPS on my cellphone it's reading about 4 mph, 15 it's showing somewhere close to 10.. that might improve with time but I'm almost to the point of seeing if the face will come off to get at the springs inside to re-calibrate it.Edit (A few more days in): The speedometer needle had been over-greased and was very sluggish to move, particularly in the cold, causing it to massively under-read. That has improved with use but having had it in pieces I can see why people complain of the odometer failing- no lubrication. Nylon gears bearing into what feels like polythene casing, and some of the gears move pretty fast, particularly the first two driven off the input shaft.

I bought it as a third analog speedometer, this is the same as "sunlite speedometer " with four digits ( not five as pictured) resettable odometer.Odometer quit working after 5 miles. speedometer is working more less accurate on 26 inch wheels ( but i dont care how accurate it is). I had the same issue with other 2 ( sunlite). I am trying those since last year b/c i like the style. First one i just threw away, second i tried to repair ( dont even try it ! ). I am returning this one, maybe they will learn the lesson.

Didn't work very long. Low quality. You're better off buying this type of old school bike speedometer from ebay. They have a bigger selection.

If you are a bike rider and you wish to keep track of your mileage as I do. My wife and I try to ride atlease 5 miles per day to keep fit in our older days. when I was a kid I had the speedometer on my bike pretty munch like this one and it performed real well . so thay why i bough the old school style speedometer kit. I would recommend this item, it operation is great with no complants.

very easy to install, reasonable price, I like the fact that it's cable driver and not a battery, great look, needle sweeps nice and smooth. the vintage cruiser bike is only a 5 speed so haven't been able to get over 20mph which is huffin and puffin for a 57yr old. :) will certainly recommend to friends.

I put my speedometer on a Walmart 26" Schwinn cruiser. I also have a china 2 stroke motor on it, my bike is a lot of fun to ride and this speedo helps set the pace as I ride to work everyday. The vibration from the motor does not affect it at all and I was surprised how steady the needle is, even going down hill at 25 mph. I cruise about 20 mph and peddle about 5 mph. Only 50 miles on the speedo so far but seems to operate dependably.

As previous people have mentioned, there are no instructions. As I have previosly had an analog speedometer in the past, I was familar with the installation. Unfortunately, the speedometers years ago were manufactured better. This one, particually the piece that is installed next to the wheel is made of plastic. I was unable to tighten the nut on the wheel because the piece that rotates would not move.I ended up going back to my digital speedometer.

Love the product. It is exactly what I wanted. On the huge down side.... I opened the box and five parts/pieces rolled out. WITH NO INSTRUCTIONS!!!! How hard would it be for the manufacturer or Amazon to have someone simply type out installation instructions? Really, it would take ten minutes to type it one time, hit print, and Voila....Customers would have a chance of installing this themselves. I paid $19.95 for this item, and $15.00 at the local bike shop to install this. That is the equivalent of paying $40,000.00 for a car, and paying $30,000.00 to have a cheap stereo put in it! Do The math. Amazon,or Bikezilla should put in the catalog description of their items they are selling :" WARNING- NO INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE INCLUDED WITH YOUR PURCHASE." I love the Speedometer-odometer, but really dis-like that they couldn't warn me there would be no installation instruction. I will think twice before shopping with them in the future. I saved no money when it was all said and done. Rude! Very Rude.
