Pros: Affordable, uncomplicated, made in USACon: Slick/smooth surface makes lid harder to grip, butter entirely visibleBought this to see how we might like room-temperature butter. Chose this one because it’s US-made and glass. Arrived quickly and intact. Turns out we love having room-temperature butter as an option! Not so much a fan of the smooth surface that makes lifting the lid a tad risky, or the fact that the butter is 100% visible on the countertop. I wound up buying a vintage pressed glass butter dish/lid that not only is easier to use grip-wise but also conceals the butter while adding a bit of sparkle on my countertop. I’ll rehome this one.

The quality is good but it needs to be a little bigger. The butter barely fits under the top which means it tends to make the top smudged with butter.

It’s a butter dish. There’s not a lot of functions to review. I used to keep margarine in its paper wrapper in the door of my fridge like a savage. Now I keep a stick of real butter in this in the cupboard. It stays nice and soft for spreading. I only just learned that real butter doesn’t need to be refrigerated every minute. I’ve left it in a cupboard for a week or more with no ill effects- no bugs, no mold, no rancid taste - it’s fine. And I live in Florida which is kind of the legendary for bugs and mold. But it will make a greasy mess if you don’t keep it in a nice butter dish like this. I put mine in the dishwasher about once a week, and it looks as shiny as it did when new, which is more than can be said for any plastic items that put in there regularly.
