It is easy to get one of these chisels stuck in the concrete you are trying to destroy. You don't have to take my word for it, but if I were you, I would. I have a very nice roto hammer (well, my brother in law has a really nice roto hammer) and recently, I used it to bust up the concrete surrounding a fence post at my mother in laws. The problem was twofold: 1) the offending fence post was put in the ground with left over concrete from when the pool was installed (1976) ... not your regular fence post mix, and 2) I only had one chisel.... which got stuck in the real concrete. Had to run to a hardware big box store and rent a jack hammer to free the chisel.So, months later, I find another fence post failing to live up my expectations, but before burning the same bridge twice, I got the set of bits and chisels. Without fear of needing to go rent another jackhammer, I boldly hammered my way into piece after piece of concrete, and when progress ceased due to getting one chisel stuck, I simply chose another one from the kit and freed the remains of the rotten post.The shanks on these are well finished and they fit into my (brother in laws) roto hammer like they were made for it. The business ends are pretty good for a guy who attacks fence post mix a couple times per year, but I am not sure they would stand up to daily abuse and/or carving statuary. Still, the price point is a great value, and the cool case they came in means they can be stored easily - or lost all together, depends on your glass half full/empty view of life. FIVE STARS

Don't be a dunce like me and order these masonry bits for your Makita standard hammer drill and the like. They are NOT compatible, take it from me. These are for use with SDS Plus rotary hammer drill systems equipped with SDS Plus chucks only! Trust me, your Makita and Ryobi standard three-jaw chuck will NOT be happy with these SDS plus shanks! (and neither will your project). I almost bricked my Makita chuck between wall and wobble. That being said, I think these are pretty dang sturdy. I mean, any masonry drill bit (I'm talking the smallest 4-mm one) that can take a wall, and more or less manage to drill a hole, despite that much centrifugal wobble (incompatible chuck) and not break off . . . THAT is saying something to the strength of the bit material! Thank goodness for my trusty Tapcon, Bosch and Milwaukee Shockwave bits that saved my butt on the rest of my project - I will stick with those for now. But I might have to seriously contemplate getting me one of them SDS Plus hammer drills and chuck to use with these SDS plus bits!! These are reasonably priced and I like how well the shanks are marked with the bit sizes - that's a plus.

Great set of SDS bits.Ive only used them a bit to try them out and did not notice any major deformation from use, seems to be pretty stoutI used the chisel a good bit to peel the lid of a 55gal drum and to knock the bung loose.Great price too. I plan to do a little heat treating on these for better longevity but they would last a long time with out that, I just like to tinker.

I bought an SDS drill on closeout from Lowes for $40. It saved me a lot of money when I installed my free-standing tub and I had to drill through my slab. Since then, I've only had the hole-saw bits and used my impact driver with a masonry bit if I needed to drill brick. But NOW I can use this bit set. And the chisel and point tools are bonus add-ons. I need to hide them so my wife doesn't suddenly start wanting me drilling rocks in half for her garden beds. A lot of these bit sets come in that flimsy plastic that's like a milk carton. Not this one. It's a good case and can stand to be rattling around my toolbox a bit.[As a Vine member, Amazon lets me pick from a pool of free products in exchange for my honest review. Good, bad, or ugly, I call them like I see them.]

I recently picked up this 6 Piece SDS-Plus Drill & Chisel Set for a concrete and masonry waterline project around the house, and I’ve been thoroughly impressed. The build quality is solid—each bit and chisel feels well-machined and sturdy. The tungsten carbide tips cut through cement and masonry like butter, and they hold up well even under heavy use. I used the set with my SDS-Plus rotary hammer, and everything locked in securely with no wobble. The flat and point chisels were especially useful for removing old tile, cinderblock and breaking up concrete slab. So far, there's been no sign of excessive wear, and the edge retention was good.Bottom Line: If you're doing work on concrete, cinderblock, or slabs, this 6 Piece SDS-Plus Drill & Chisel Set is an economical investment. Durable, efficient, and easy to use with any SDS-Plus compatible tool, this set delivers great performance at a very reasonable price. I don't know about longevity, but so far it has been a solid performer.
