It definitely works as described, It's just a little finicky with the settings. I've tried to change how the device (collar) reacts to tugging, but I was finding the manual a little hard to follow at first. Now I've got the settings dialed in, but I have to change them sometimes when I first start the device up. I didn't install the prongs because my dog responds to the vibration well, and I haven't had any major problems yet. I'm still just trying to get him used to not pulling when he finds something interesting to investigate

My young English Pointer is nearly unwalkable--I don't know how a 55# dog could be so powerful. I'm 6" and 200#, so I'm not a small guy. When the pup gets on a scent he pulls like a freight train--he's the only dog I've had that I've been unable to get to heel. This device has made Takoda walkable again. The way it works, you put the included beep/vibration/shock collar on the dog's neck and attach the provided least to his normal collar and then attach it leash to the device. If the dog pulls too much it will beep. If he pulls at bit harder the collar on his neck will vibrate. If he pulls even harder, he will receive a gentle shock. You can adjust the loudness of the beep, the level of vibration, and the shock intensity. It will operate automatically or you can operate it manually and choose the appropriate correction. If in "auto", you can still issue a manual correction and it will stay on auto.It isn't perfect. I've used it daily for nearly a month and I will say that it does work. I was concerned about the quality, but that has not been a problem. The leash it comes with is only just over 4 feet. I prefer a 6 foot leash. I suppose for teaching a dog to heel, the 4 foot leash is appropiate but I bought a carabiner and attached my longer leash to the device. The screen on the device is very difficult to read in sunlight. I do like the screen and the controls--it is just a bit difficult to read when outside. When you turn off/on the collar, it will vibrate. I think this is a flaw. I had a bark collar for one of my dogs years back (a Collie) and she figured out that the collar meant she shouldn't bark. When you took it off, she would bark. Dogs are very smart. If you keep putting a collar on and off a dog, many dogs will figure out what the collar does. On two occasions, the collar turned off when on my dog so the device stopped working. It charges pretty fast and has a reasonably long battery life. The translated manual is decent but it wasn't clear to me how to set the levels when in Auto mode--I had to put the collar on my leg and play around with it to understand how to set it. Speaking of levels, if you are at a level 1 (the lowest level) and hit the minus (reduce) button, it will set the level to the highest level--9. It really should not wrap around like that. The unit does work pretty well. I can walk my Pointer without him pulling too much, but at this point he ignores it when it beeps so the thing is beeping on and off for the entire walk. I may have to try to turn off the beeping. In summary, the unit does work well, but has some things that probably, in my opinion, should be changed. It has held up for the month that I've had it. I can't give it 5 stars but I think 4 stars is fair.

I feel if we’re going to use this on our dog we should test it on ourselves so we did. I was able to shock myself up to level 4 without regretting it. It feels like a nerve vibration, weird feeling that kinda tickles but also tenses your muscles so you’re immobile for a second, not agonizing per se but with that said I would be too chicken to test myself on levels 6+. If you want to test it on your self just know that both prongs have to be touched at the same time for it to work.Speaking of prongs, there are two sets, a short set and a long set. Also you don’t have to worry about your dogs neck being too big because there is a second collar to use as an extender but we didn’t need to use it even though our dog’s fur coat is thick. Our dog is over 100 pounds and is a literal bulldozer on walks, think zig zag type bulldozer where he’s literally lounging from one side of the road to the other —let’s just say that one time I neighbor joked “is HE taking you on a walk again today?” One day I lost a flip flop shoe because I literally had to jog to keep up with him. Well, no more, we were able to use this leash WITHOUT the chain leash that we usually walk him with and had no pulling problems whatsoever.I thought the product looked thin and not heavy duty enough to handle our large dog but without the pulling we discovered you don’t really need heavy duty equipment to resist pulling forces.I like that there is a vibrate option that you can use instead of the shock option. The leash isn’t long but the length seems just right for keeping your dog at a comfortable distance. The leash is a rope like material and it’s stretchy and has some give.Overall I think the product lives up to its claims. It automatically sends vibrations/shocks to the collar when the leash is pulled taut by a dog that has no idea you’re being yanked around behind him.I know a lot of people are against products like this and I get it but I’m going to assume that most people who are simply trying to take their dogs on walks are not interested in causing harm —they’re just looking for adjunct training options (when all the treats and redirection don’t work!) so that they can take their dog on more family adventures without worrying about their dog leaping into oncoming cars or injuring their elderly parent.

My Frenchie is out of control, typical Frenchie lol but walking with her is awful she chases EVERYTHING that moves.. we've used this once so far and it really works great! When she started pulling it 1st made noise, then vibrated, then shocked and she figured it out. Highly recommend
