It took me 8 hours under the car in 100 plus degree sun and 6, 40 Amp fuses to realize the power cable doesn't seat after it clips in. You have to push it in further. A random 4 star review gave me this answer so I'm passing it on. Works pretty great though. BMW still a pain to work on. The gt three because of the plug and it will be viewed more.

I had no problems installing everything; everything fit perfectly. The only thing I didn't use was the relay because I didn't have to use my old work.

Changed out the desicant, dist block, and solenoid on the original bmw pump and still had the chassis function restriction code popping up. Change the bags and level sensors. Only things left were the relay (that wasn’t it) and the pump. Swapped this pump in and no more codes. Nearly identical to the factory bmw pump. It’s an easy swap. Don’t hesitate if your F15 X5 is having compressor/air bag system issues. Going to change out the desiccant every 12-18 months as a precaution.

The mechanic shop was going to charge me $1,252 to replace the compressor on my 2018 BMW X5 xDrive40e plugin Hybrid in. I said eff that and bought this for $256. I changed it out myself in the shops parking lot on a Sunday afternoon. It was very easy and probably took me an hour. (There are some videos on this you can find) Best to have a floor jack (I borrowed a neighbors) and a 10mm closed ended wrench ($10 at AutoZone). You'll also need a socket set (metric 7 through 10 mm I think) and flashlight - That's about it! [You'll need to pull the black tube off the original and the harness clip and place it onto the new pump. And if your hose lines have the original brass crimps, no need to replace...just be sure to remove the new crimps sitting inside the solenoid before you connect the hoses] Also, if your I've driven the car everyday now for 3 months and works as it should. Just as quiet as the original.

This was a very easy DIY, it took me less than 2 hours to remove and replace this item. I did it with a floor jack, jack stand and a socket set. It took longed to remove the plastic under carriage protective cover than to remove and replace the compressor. Do not be afraid of this DIY. It saved me over $2000.

I was hesitant, thinking I would end up with low quality garbage. Not true. I'm sure some may be faulty upon arrival as most things manufactured at mass quantity are. But since Amazon has such great return policies I went for it. I'm glad I did.Install was very easy, just used car ramps. Undercarriage panels were easy to remove as well. I did remove the included brass air hose ends from the valve block as my air lines already had ones installed. I decided not to try to remove the original ones. All went fine. F15 X5 pumped back up perfectly after starting vehicle.

Installed the unit as specified. Replaced the relay as well. The pump turned on for a split second and the iDrive threw an error "Chassis Malfunction". I did make sure the 40AMP fuse is in the right spot also. Maybe there's a way to get it to work as some customers have had success. I found no way to contact the seller here. I will update the review if I can get some advice from the seller.Updated 12/2/2023: After re-doing the install I figured out that the power plug connection needs a lot more force than the OEM one to click into place. I think in my initial install I was afraid of damaging the plastic plug so I didn't put much force. That may be the reason that the pump only turned on for a split second. Put some WD40 around the edges of the power plug clip to reduce friction and it will click into place. Make sure you hear the clicking sound. Now everything works. I replaced the airbags with ARNOTs as well so the entire air suspension system is new now. Only time will tell the longevity of this aftermarket one, but compared to a 1500 OEM WEBCO pump this is very well-priced. Technically to replace the pump it's very easy. 3 Bolts hold the pump to the chessey. The only downfall is that there was no way to contact the manufacturer to get some technical help so I'm digging a point for that. My vehicle is a 2016 BMW X5 35i (F15).
