Great pricing and a good quality part. These plastic parts get brittle, after a while and begin to leak. Ours just didn't keep the engine temperature correct and set a check engine light. Popped it off and popped it back in its place. Works perfectly, no more of that check engine light.

2003 focus se zetec 2.0 dohc2.5hr install totalDid not drain radiator, dropped about 1 gallon of fluid.Found chips in the engine block coolant outlet. Explains the leak at 170k miles on the second thermostat housing. Put 90 minutes gasket maker on the outside of the o ring on the housing as well as the chipped part of the engine block. Day 1 and over night it passed the leak test on cardboard. No drops.CAUTION: engine runs warmer with this 190 degree thermostatCheck your thermostat before you instal. I did not actuate it to make sure it wasn’t stuck. Pretty sure it got stuck on the inaugural ride and engine coolant temp almost went into the red. Put heat on full blast and temp came down. Didn’t happen again.Returning the expensive aluminum one I ordered.

Had to replace my old thermostat on a 2004 Ford Focus with the Zetec engine. This one is cheaper than any alternative I could have gotten in the city, and seems to be working just as well as the OEM one it replaced.

The car overheated again. Every plastic part breaks because of heat and age on this cooling system. I was not risking replacing the thermoset, only to find the plastic housing piece breaks. Now to find out why the fans didn't turn on.
