Works great but has a noticeable motor noise. It’s not a deal breaker for me as I am not always in my aquarium room but for people whose tanks are in a main living area it may bother you. The flow is is strong and set up is easy so I’m keeping it.

What am I reviewing?I am reviewing Aqqa’s Aquarium Submersible [10w] Water Pump. How did this arrive?Within a sturdy, blue in color, somewhat informative, unsealed corrugated type cardboard presentation package measuring “about” 6” x 4” x 2½” and weighing near (9½) ounces. The package is durable enough to keep everything within.Size of pump?Under 2½” x under 2½” x under 1½”.Weight of pump?About 68 grams, which is near 2½ ounces.Weight of pump with cord?About 96 grams, which is near 3½ ounces. Was a manual included?Yes, small, about a quarter of the size of typical sheet of paper, there were a whopping (40) pages. The user is to read the manual first, for good reason.Where is the use to be?Underwater only, completely submerged.Power adapter included?Yes.Biggest power adapter surprise? It’s (c) UL (us) listed.Anything else? It’s truly built for international use, as it can accept up to 240v.So?That’s important, it tells me that extra steps were made to ensure this adapter complied with parameters necessary for United States use.Any hoses included? No.Hose adapters included?Yes.How does it secure to the tank?Suction cup feet, which were supplied, and that I had to self-install.Can this handle dirtier applications?Hmm, nothing referenced that it would. I can take off the bottom shield, to clean where the impeller is, but that area has no prefab filter application, foam or otherwise. What I wantedWhen I was searching for the right pump, for my use, I wanted submersible; a decent flow rate; have good head pressure (I’ll call it lift); controllable [at least as an option]; efficient use of household current; decent horsepower; low noise; reasonable cost; quick connect; and having ETL and/or UL listing.Performance? This worked as expected, it’s quiet, has decent lift/production.Did this fit my needs? This did. I liked the feeding option to, where it will shut off for (10) minutes. I thought all the cords were of reasonable length too.GFCI?There is no Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) on the plug. Is it required? Not sure, but I have seen them on other applications. [When I am working with water and electricity, I like the idea of a GFCI].Wish list?Battery operated.Value?I think I received fair value, at a reasonable price.Complaints? It’s a tad difficult accessing the impeller, but I can manage.Rating?Hmm, I have no significant complaints, this is five (5) stars in my eyes.I hope my thoughts added some information.

I got it today, and installed it today. Seems like a nice well built little pump. It's just the right size for my outdoor waterfall. So far very happy with it I'll keep it clean and hope it lasts a long time. Great money value compared to other ones I've looked at.

This made water changes easy since I use a 5 gallon bucket to do the changes. Nice that is sits on the bottom of the bucket.

This is a really compact pump that seems well made. No real issues the pump seems to run well in the small fountain I have. The output seems to be a little weaker than stated. If you really need to hit the max flow rate you may need to look elsewhere. Pump also has an inline controller where you can turn the pump on/off and adjust the flow rate.

The good things about this pump are it's quiet, comes with a controller, and is low voltage dc. But the gph that are listed do not seem to match the output when compared to other pumps. I would recommend going a size up for what you need and using the controller to decrease the flow if need be.

UPDATE: STILL GREATMy basement flooded, water coming up through the drains. I grabbed this, a short piece of hose, and started filling all the buckets I could find. It worked great. The buttons meant I could turn it off if I needed to run and grab something and didn't want it to run dry. It handled shallower water than the larger pump I managed to find. Seriously the hero of the dayTurn off/on without touching the plug!!!This is great for water changes. I needed to test a sump and being a sump, it didn't have a drain. This made the process very easy, and when a section was done, I could just press the off button, move it, and restart. No need to have wet hands never an outlet. The all around intake on the bottom is a nice design, and I am thinking of making an internal filter with this. I wish the base came off without needing a screw driver, to make cleaning easier. The price is also a bit high for a pump of this GPH. That being said, I think the inclusion of the controller makes up for it and justifies the price. If you need a pump to run all the time, and you don't want to turn it off for feeding, than this will work, but other options will be a bit cheaper. However, it would be good for fishkeepers to have at least one pump like this, for draining tanks, adding water back in, and having the feeding option were it pausing for 10 minutes and turns itself back on.I am quite happy to have this in my tanks, and will make maintenance easier, especially in tanks that I can't use an suction hose/tube because of small fish.
