I had to return. It was my fault - didn’t check the dimensions prior to ordering. It is very large. Didn’t expect an accessory of this type to be so large. Not wanting to add that much size and weight to my gear for a backup safety measure. Return process was easy.

Yes it is big and I wish it were smaller, but I just hang it off my BCD so it's easy to grab when I want to use it and so the size really isn't an issue. I really like that it doesn't rattle until you forcefully shake it. No "false alarms" or rattling in your luggage. The "click-clack" sound is very distinct and easy to hear from fairly long distances. You won't be confused with all the tank bangers out there. The only reason I rated it down a star is that I lost it diving today. The strap around the body has a slide to keep it tight. However the slide can be pulled back easily, particularly when wet. Once the loop is large enough, your rattle can be easily liberated to the ocean. I will be ordering a replacement and figuring out a better way to secure it.Update on 17 Dec 2020. Downgrade from 4 stars to 2.So I bought a replacement. It didn't seem to be filled with fluid like the first model. First time in the ocean a few days ago and it fell apart. Once it came apart, everything slipped out of the strap. Another diver recovered the end cap. A third diver said she saw the parts in the sand, but didn't know what it was so she didn't pick it up. I like the product when it works, but I'm done wasting $25 a pop on a product that won't last the dive. I think I'll build my own replacement with PVC glue that works and a retainer for a strap so it won't come off!

First and foremost, It IS LOUD, exactly as advertised. But it is very large! i cant find a place on my bcd to attach it so that it is out of my way until i need it.I've included pictures. I am 6'2", 210lbs. I have decently large hands (not bragging, just trying to create scale of size). This thing is basicallya large piece of pvc pipe, closed on both ends, with a large ball bearing (or something similar) which is quite loud when shaking.I think i will look for something a bit less obtrusive. Maybe another tank banger.

I hope the TSA doesn't mistake it for dynamite. I saw compact design in the description and when it arrived I was surprised at how large it was. I am willing to try it out, but I was expecting something smaller

This is the best underwater signal I have found. I have tried tank banging with knives and balls. I have tried different bells and rattles. The problem with the other signals is they can be confused with something else or they sound far away. It sounds exactly the same underwater as above. It is loud. I have had one person complain it was anoying. Annoying is hard to ignore.

This underwater noise maker works great. We were diving in Roatan and my wife used it to get everyones attention when she spotted an eel. The only draw back is that it is larger and heavier than I would have liked.
