I am a traditional instinctive-archery enthusiast. I use the medieval English Longbow. Some bow-stringers just plain won't work, or at least, won't work well, on traditional medieval English Longbows. This one works well for my longbow. It is of very durable construction, and the price is good. It is easy to use, and due to the fact that one of the limb-seating caps is smaller than the other, it allows easier slipping-on of the bowstring while in use. This stringer would work well with an English Longbow with horn-knocks, too. The construction of the bow-stringer is robust, durable, weatherproof, and of superior quality. The limb-caps fit well on the longbow's limb tips; and the smaller limb-cap on one end makes stringing that much easier. A good solid bow-stringer. I am very pleased with it!

The bow stringer works like a bow stringer works. The quality is great and it's an easy stringer to use.

This archery bow stringer tool is a very simple device, yet has a clever design. It is basically 73 inches of sturdy nylon rope with sliding knots at the ends to adjust the length. The clever part is how the rope is inserted through the rubber limb caps and held snuggly in place on the other side of them. This gives the rope some leverage to pull against to gently bend the bow. The caps also protect the limb tips. One of the caps is smaller than the other, which really helps to slip the bowstring over. There are easy instructions right on the Amazon page. I used this for my recurve bow. I simply attached the rubber limb caps to the tips of my bow limbs, stepped on the middle of the stringer rope, and pulled up on the bow to bend the limbs just enough to slip the 2nd end of the bowstring into the groove. That was it! My bow was strung and ready to use! This bow stringer tool just made that task so much easier. I’m so glad I have this and will use it all the time now.

This stringer is made from a rope and two rigid plastic cups for the bow ends - the plastic cups do not deform, so your bow may not fit in the first place. I was very hopeful about this bow stringer, because it can be hard to find pre-made stringers with ends small enough for my longbow. However, as soon as I started pulling up on my bow to string it, one of the ends of the stringer broke completely. Not just the rope slipping out from the cup- the plastic holding the cup on broke.

It only fit one of my three recurve bows. Granted one of those bows is barely a step up from a toy and has extra plastic endcaps on it. But the other is simply too big to fit the small end of this helper. But on the homemade (or at least locally made) one that I have the tips are small enough on both ends. And with that one it did do the job 👍

Great build! Simple to use and size isn't to big and simple to put in a small pocket of the bow case.

If you've never used this type os bow stringer, you will be very happy when you try this one. It is the easiest way to string either a longbow or a recurve bow! It also protects your bow from having the tips damaged while stringing.I make primitive bows and currently have a 6-foot oak longbow and a shorter black locust Cherokee-style bow. This stringer will be perfect for both of them. I have one that I made but it's always good to have a backup. The instructions on the product page for using it to string your bow are very clear, but you can also find videos on YouTube. The easiest and safest way to string your bow!

Prior to having this bow stringer, I was really struggling to get my string on and off my 55 lb recurve bow. I'm really surprised at how easy it really is with this stringer! As the description says, simply attach the ends to your bow limbs, step on the stringer cord, and pull upwards and you string will loosen enough to remove it from the top and slide it down the limb. I have used it several times, and have shown family members how easy it is. I'm sure this will hold up for years to come. This is a good value and makes stringing and unstringing the bow easy and safe.
