About this item

  • The impeller of the S12038-8K is held in a brass housing by two ball bearings, which makes it particularly durable and resistant to external influences such as heat and dust.
  • The S12038-8K has a wide speed range that can be regulated via PWM and voltage.
  • With a static pressure of 37 mmH2O and a maximum airflow of 370 m³/h, the S12038-8K is a true all-rounder and is suitable for use on heatsinks, as a radiator fan or as a rack fan.
  • The S12038-8K fits into 4U server housings and serves as an upgrade or replacement for a CPU fan, radiator fan or for system ventilation.
  • The fan has a standard 4-pin connector and can also be connected and controlled on 2-pin and 3-pin headers, while the 30 cm cable allows flexibility in positioning.
  • The S12038-8K guarantees comprehensive protection: overvoltage, reverse polarity and overcurrent protection save the device from damage and contribute significantly to its longevity and reliability.

Product Description

S12038-8K, Server Fan, Server Cooler, AMD, Intel, Ampere

S12038-8K, Server Fan, Server Cooler, AMD, Intel, Ampere

New Standards in Energy Efficiency

With the same performance, the S12038-8K server fan consumes 12% less than the next best competitor, improving the energy efficiency of your server. The reduction in power consumption is the result of months of motor optimization by ARCTIC engineers with the goal of increasing the efficiency of IT equipment.

*Test setup: Fan on Freezer 4U heatsink on 400 W heating element; fan speed set so that the temperature of the heating element is constantly 20 °C above the ambient temperature.

Wide Speed Range (800 to 8000 rpm)

The S12038-8K has a wide speed range from 800 to 8000 rpm, which can be controlled via both PWM and voltage regulation. This wide range enables precise adjustment of the fan to the specific requirements of the server, ensuring efficient cooling performance under different operating conditions. The fan is equipped with a standard 4-pin connector, which also allows connection to 2-pin or 3-pin headers. The 30 cm long cable offers additional flexibility when positioning the fan.

Active Cooling for Longer Motor Service Life

A 10 °C lower motor temperature roughly doubles the service life. The motor of the S12038-8K is not only particularly efficient, but is also actively cooled by an additional impeller in the fan hub.

The scope of delivery includes a sticker for the motor hub, which ensures a long service life even in dusty environments.

Ideal for Server Environments

Especially in server environments, fans with a high pressure are required to enable sufficient air circulation in the often tightly packed enclosures. The S12038-8K fits into server enclosures from 3U/3U and is used as an upgrade or replacement for a CPU fan, radiator fan or for system ventilation.

High Airflow and Static Pressure

Heatsinks and radiators benefit from fans with high static pressure. The S12038-8K has a static pressure of 37 mmH₂O, which enables it to push air through even narrow cooling fins. At the same time, it achieves a maximum airflow of 370 m³/h and can therefore quickly dissipate heat from enclosures. These properties make it the ideal choice for a wide range of applications.

Designed for Continuous Operation

The impeller of the S12038-8K is held by two high-quality Japanese ball bearings in a sturdy brass housing. This design increases longevity and minimizes sensitivity to influences such as heat and dust. In addition, the brass housing contributes significantly to reducing wear on high-speed fans.

Way to loud sounded like a jet engine but sure will keep things cool

This thing is not quiet by any means, but I don’t think anyone expects an 8,000 RPM fan to be quiet. It’s one of the highest quality fans I’ve ever bought, and the cooling and airflow is beyond human comprehension. I wouldn’t recommend this for a main PC in your room, but this fan will do wonders in a server chassis. Definitely wouldn’t put any limbs or extremities near it though.

Looking for a bad ass computer fan. And you don’t really care about noise, this is the fan for you. This thing will suck the insides of your computer out, when I first turned it on, even though I used to vacuum and sucked all of the dust out of the inside of the computer. This thing found more dust that was in there, and instantly made a giant dust cloud in the room. Of course he can use his fan for other things. It is a four wire PWM but you can just supply 12 V to the first two wires starting with the black with a white stripe, which is the negative wire. The next one is positive. What a beast of a fan.

This is easily the most powerful 120mm fan I've ever had in my 30 years of messing with computer fans. This thing will hover on its own if put at full power on the floor. The PWM works lower than 600 rpm, will maintain down to about 200 rpm before cutoff and it's pretty quiet at anything below 1700rpm. The performance is unparalleled. The airflow is unmatched by any other fan on the market. And value for the money is also better than any other fan out there. If you need airflow and not screens or RGB in your fans get this, you won't be disappointed in its performance, only impressed

Well they are not quiet by any means and of course this is not what they are meant for. They might even burn out pwm header on your motherboard because they pull current. Yes it will cut your finger off as well if you are not careful.Do they move air? you bet they do. I was not expecting this fan be be as powerful as it is. Rear of my PC is facing a shelf with items and what not. it moves so much air it knocked stuff off. Damn!

sound like an air raid siren but preform very well, they are server fans after all, would recommend for any high end workstation or server, but be warned, get a hardware controller, none of the like 7 softwares i tried worked.

Replaced my cheap server fans with these. They are performing well, although I have not pushed them beyond 4500 rpm which is enought static pressure for my use case. The old ones were 4000 rpm fans, The noise level is lower at smilar rpms compared to the old ones.

Tun genau was sie sollen. Ich nutze sie nicht für einen Server oder pc aber zum absaugen von Abluft. Lassen sich alle steuern ohne Probleme.
