Armstrong's Astro Circulator is intended for circulating water or ethylene glycol solutions in closed hydronic or solar heating systems. It is designed with no mechanical seals or couplers to replace, and no lubrication is required. Armstrong Astro 2230CI 3-speed circulator provides unmatched performance over a wide range of head and flow requirements. A quick drop-in upgrade to the 14 year old and seized Astro 30B circulator in our heating system. The fastest speed on this one provides approximately the same performance curve as the 30B. There is a different size and shape of the electrical box and it is also different from older ones of this same part number circulator. This might possibly be a problem in tight spaces.

The bearings are worn out after two years, no repair possible by design. Sick and tired of "brand names"; the next pump will be a half-price no-name with spare bearings.
