I was having issues with excessive buffering / hanging during streaming with my Arris SB6183.This modem (Arris TM3402A) solved the problem. I didn't notice all the negative / one star reviews before ordering.As I could always return it if there was a problem, I let the order ride. It did require tier two optimum support to get it provisioned. It works. No reason in my estimation for less than five stars.

I had high hopes for the Arris TM3402 32x8/2x2 DOCSIS 3.1 Telephony Cable Modem, but unfortunately, it was a major disappointment.The modem simply would not work out of the box. Despite following all the setup instructions, it failed to obtain an IP address from my ISP, rendering it completely unusable. I spent hours troubleshooting and even reached out to my ISP, but the issue persisted.For a device at this price point, I expected much better reliability and compatibility. It’s frustrating to invest in new hardware only to have it fail at such a basic level.Would not recommend this modem to anyone. Save yourself the time and hassle and look for a more dependable option.

After working with this for roughly 3 hrs still had to have Xfinity come put and get a leased modem from them until I can purchase a NEW modem. Thought I would save a few bucks and get a refurbished modem thinking what could go wrong? 🤣 well what can go wrong is modem regardless of solid up/down and online cannot be seen on their end. Spend alot of time online trying to troubleshoot myself then another couple hours speaking with the Philippines customer care who also could not help me outside of scheduling my 100$ technician to.come out and tell me it the modem. Live and learn I guess. Cannot say they all don't work just reflecting on my time costly and pocket costly experience. Who knows your could be different.

The device had a loose metal part inside and some screws just bouncing around in there. Not sure that anyone even attempted to renew this device before reselling it.

ARRIS surfboard modem and when trying to install it on my network cox notified me that the serial number of this item was listed as lost in 2020 they also explained that it had been stolen
