Using this in an old pentium PC as a Windows XP retro gaming computer. It was easy to setup and works really good.

I used this unit to replace/upgrade a 24 year old hard disk in my ancient Akai DPS16 digital multitrack recorder.Old hard disk was somehow still alive but I didn’t want to push it. Plus it was extremely noisy.Pulled the hard disk, plugged in this unit, inserted a SD card adapter with a micro SD card (8 gig), fired up the machine, new unit was instantly recognized, formatted card and now the recorder is ready to operate.Lost a good bit of weight with this upgrade, gained reliability and ease of maintenance (card swapping) and lost ALL of the noise.Couldn't be happier. Longevity is unknown at this point, but unit was dirt cheap and if it goes bad I'll order another and put the SD card in it and keep going.Highly recommended for replacing/upgrading 3.5" IDE hard disk.Update: I initially installed an 8gig Clouddisk micro SD card from Amazon and it worked well for about an hour. Then the card failed and could no longer write data. So I swapped it out with a trusty old Sandisk 32gig class 10 card, formatted it and began recording again without a single glitch. I recommend using the highest quality card you can find to really get the best use out of this conversion kit.

My WIN 98 SE computer used EIDE hard drives which are not available. My system hardware was not able to use SATA hard drives and this was the perfect solution.

Sólo coloqué una SD Card, lo instalé en una Power Mac G4 (Azul) y funcionó. Instalé MacOS 9 y MacOS X sin ningún problema. Gracias.
