ASI 16001, Type IMRJ0845, is a compact RJ45 Terminal Block that provides a wiring transition from Cat5e etherent cables equipped with RJ-45 connectors to easy-to-wire screw clamp terminal blocks which accept 26 to 12 AWG wires. At only 1.4 inches wide the RJ-45 connector wiring transition module will save valuable panel space while the snap on DIN rail mounting will make installation quick and easy. The interface module is equipped with a white space for easy customer labeling and with 6 component holes in each circuit for easy customer addition and modification with components such as resistors, capacitors, MOV's and other leaded components if needed. A shielded RJ connector is used and the shield is carried through the printed circuit board and a shield wire connection is available with the terminal blocks. The terminal blocks are labeled to insure accurate and easy wiring to the transition module. 16001 is a DIN rail mounted RJ45 terminal block that is sold in packages of 1.

I have been using the less expensive ones for years but I bought one of these by accident. I'm glad I did because the quality of this piece is WAY better than the other ones. The jack itself is a lot more solid and the screw terminals are better built. It also looks a lot more professional. Having the shield terminals is handy, even though I don't use them, just to have a couple of extra terminals I can use so I don't have to cram a bunch of wires into one terminal. I just cut the traces to the shield and jumpered the terminals over. One thing to note is that this thing is a lot bigger than the other ones available. It's almost 3 inches tall. The fact that the jack is facing out rather than down saves some room, though.

A GREAT way to connect CAT5, CAN networks, etc. to other "stuff." It is DIN rail mounted so you can use it in more "formal" set ups. The price is better than other famous brand items (i.e. WAGO, etc.) and it works just the same. There is a solder bus in between the RJ connector and the screw terminals that you can use to further interconnect the RJ45 socket to the outside world.
