I wanted a way to keep certain dry supplies isolated from liquids that might spill during a trip. This cargo carrier was the perfect solution. I can keep items in it that need to stay dry, and pack cleaning liquids around it without worrying. In previous trips I had a bottle of washing machine detergent leak and cover everything in the compartment, so, this is a welcome solution that will keep that from ever happening again. The bag is strong, seals well, and can be folded and worked into even the smaller compartments. Enjoy.

I needed to put a large and HEAVY wooden folding chair in it. It weights about 40 lbs and is VERY expensive (it's loaned). To say I was worried is an understatement. But it kept the chair dry and didn't move at all for the 4 hour trip. Great value.

This travel storage roof bag is overall fantastic! No more bulky hard cases. It's flexible and provides "give" for your storage items. There are a little quirky things that are involved. You may need one or two people to help you get it spread over your roof. (It could be done alone, but you may need some weights for each corner.) But before that, you MUST have a clean rooftop so that the mat doesn't slip or slide. So, do not skimp out on doing this step! First, you get the mat spread down. Then, unfold the bag using the initial step of anchoring down the corners. This part is the largest challenge. Once your bag is open though, you got it made. This bag holds EVERYTHING! It's durable, waterproof, has an attractive aesthetic, and the installation is not that bad at all; just remember what I said earlier about the corners. It's awesome. It held mine and my husband's entire sets of luggage, some camping equipment, the playpen, a few chairs, and a box of small appliances! The logistics of the strap mechanisms were extremely secure and well thought-out. I never even considered that it might not hold, because it is secure! The instructions for securing it were easy to follow. The aerodynamic build of the bag didn't cause unnecessary wind sheer during travel either. Finally, when the bag is not in use, it folds down to almost nothing! That's what I emphasized in the photos. The stark contrast in size capacity of this product is amazing! No more big bulky hard plastic cases to bother with storing. I highly recommend this rooftop travel bag for your travel storage.

I've only ever used the hard case toppers so I wanted to wait to use this before reviewing it...unbiased honest reviews after all.I was concerned that the soft case was going to let my belongings shift and flop all over...and to a small degree you do have to pack things properly and not just toss loose items in it. I have a Ford Expedition; huge SUV, ton of room right? Not with 3 rows up unfortunately and I didn't get the "extended" model because well, it's big enough already. This was the perfect addition to add the room for luggage and other items to the vehicle and protect it all.As for the unit itself, it's made of very durable material, the straps are solid and everything was up to the task. Access was as easy as could be expected...actually easier than the hard case toppers to be honest. I was even able to pack things to give it a nice aerodynamic slope to help with fuel economy. (Trust me I need all I can get with this thing.)Bottom line is soft packs are perfectly fine, I'm sold. This unit is quality, does what you want it too and is a great deal vs the Swedish hard case option. No complaints!

Full disclosure, I havenโt used this cargo bag yet. It does feel like itโs well constructed. The storage capacity appears to be large, which allows more space inside the vehicle. The value for this is good if you need the extra storage capacity. It says it keeps water out, and I believe that because the design of the flap that covers the zipper makes sense. It feels extremely durable to be considered weatherproof. Any time you travel with external storage, just make sure it is properly secured to avoid sliding around or flying off while driving. I recommend this as a value purchase and the ability to store in a bag without taking up a lot of space.

I recently took this roof bag on a weekend camping trip, and it performed surprisingly well. Along with this, I also purchased an inflatable car camping mattress, and the combination was perfect for freeing up the interior of my Subaru Outback. With the roof bag, we were able to store much of our camping gear and personal items on top, which allowed us to sleep and "live" inside the car comfortably. Ok, maybe not "comfortably", but as comfortably as two adults and a dog can in the back of a Subaru Outback.I was impressed with how well this bag fit onto the factory roof rails of my Outback. The numerous tie-downs kept everything secure, even at highway speeds, and I never once worried about it coming loose or falling off. We hit a bit of rain on our way to the campsite, and I was initially concerned because I had a bad experience with a similar bag that wasnโt waterproof. Thankfully, this bag held up perfectly, keeping everything dry.The material is thick and durable, so Iโm confident it will last for many more trips. While itโs not as sturdy as a hard shell roof compartment, itโs a fantastic, cost-efficient alternative that did exactly what I needed it to do. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for extra storage space.
