They do look very nice and arrived not chipped or alike already. The sound -when simply shaking each one of the 2 'balls'- is pleasant. Very quickly it becomes obvious though that they are not made of a hard/solid enough material to 'hit' each other. If you look up some videos as to how they are played, you'll see that often one swings around and then 'meets' the other ... this is part of how various patterns and rhythms are created. They are too fragile in my opinion and I don't like them cracked after just a few days. So I am not sure if they are made for more decorative purposes or simply to be used as 2 small egg-like shakers connected with a string.

One ball arrived with a chunk of wood out of it. Other than that it feels thin to the point it’ll break fairly quickly but this is my first set so I’m not sure about that

Only after 7 days of having it, one of the two balls cracked.
