Doesn't screw tight. Might need some loctite to keep it from slipping or rubber washer. Metal is just painted black. Probably steel as it is magnetic. Would be better if it was anodize aluminum. It was cheap but also the quality.

The bracket fits between my roof prism 10x42 leupolds. It even fits when the binos are pushed together as far as they can go.With the bracket attached they still fit into their harness/pouch. I could not have asked for anything better!!

This is replacing a plastic tripod-binocular adapter that came with my Celestron 25x70 and was way too wiggly. Part feels stiff (yay!), but it's nearly impossible to tighten sufficiently because the knob for doing so is small and between the binocular halves and thus can't be gripped easily.I might try to 3D print a knob a washer and/or a knob extension. Or possibly mill out some grips on the current knob? Something.

I assumed the base had two holes to accommodate 1/4" and 3/8" screw as others, but both are 1/4". That made this trash for me.

This one of the only adapters that i found i could put in my badlands bino case with the tripod plate still attach .

I was able to attach my Alderblick 7X50's to TWO different tripod bases with this adapter.This is prolly not the adapter for you if using giant bino's. I would expect clearance issues, its low profile not much offset.The part on the L type adapter that contacts tripod base head -has 2 thread sizes .So the L bracket even fit on my vintage Star-Davidson tripod as well as my Bogen !
