ATP Transmission filters are designed to keep the transmission fluid clean and flowing consistently, as intended by the original manufacturer. This is achieved by matching the OE specification of particle filtration and fluid flow. Every transmission will eventually accumulate debris from normal wear and tear. It is critical that the transmission fluid is kept clean so that the valve body and other vital components do not become clogged making them in-operable. By regularly replacing your transmission filter, you will be extending your transmission’s life and avoiding the possibility of costly repairs.
The exclusive 3rd Hand Pan Gasket is an innovative gasket solution invented by ATP. It features slightly undersized bolt holes that hold pan bolts in place during installation, which can be identified by small tabs on the outer perimeter. The “3rd Hand” retaining feature makes a cumbersome installation process much easier.
The material composition of the gasket is also unique. The fibrous gasket swells slightly with the first heat cycle, preventing any leaks long term and filling in imperfections on the pan and transmission surfaces. The feature also ensures transmission pan bolts do not loosen over time due to the expanded gasket.
About ATP Automotive: ATP was founded on July 1, 1955. The company was an innovator of transmission rebuild kits and, over the years, has expanded its product offering to include automatic transmission filter kits, repair kits, cables, flywheels and ring gears, cabin air filters and chemicals. In 2001, the Graywerks by ATP line was introduced. This line consists of exhaust manifolds, harmonic balancers, timing covers and engine and transmission pans. ATP Automotive strives to provide the highest quality parts to their valued customers. The company was fully rebranded as ATP Automotive in 2014.

Well made, looks and feels solid. The gasket it came with is a complete joke. Hopefully you still have the factory reusable gasket on your truck otherwise you need to buy another one. And remember, the f150's had a little yellow plunger, that kind of looked like an old spinning top, that seals the hole for the transmission fluid dip stick. When they install the dip stick, that little plunger gets pushed down in the transmission pan and sits in there. So if you can't figure out where that extra left over piece came from, don't worry about it and through it away.

Perfect fit for my application, 2000 Ford Crown Vic Police Interceptor. Includes a gasket but NOTE - if your pan has a metal gasket sandwiched in rubber, then you can reuse it without sealant. The supplied, flimsy gasket is not necessary. Also, take a look at the rubber ring on the tube of the new filter... make sure the old ring comes out when you remove the old filter - sometimes the old ring will remain in the transmission valve body and you'll never get the new filter installed correctly until the old ring is removed. If there is a hard plastic thingy rattling in the bottom of the pan, do not worry - it's a part used during assembly at the factory - simply discard it. Wear gloves when removing and cleaning the magnet - trust me. Use brake cleaner to clean the magnet and pan. Don't forget to drain the torque convertor which is very slow going. When everything is finally done, measure how many quarts you drained from the entire system - pour in the same amount.

Pop off the bolts pull the filter clean the pan and the magnet watch a movie while it drains fully, come back out put the tap the filter in with your palm clean the gasket surface with a rag, (dont even use sealer) put your gasket in between the pan; add a bolt on one side then another.....finish it up with the rest, add fluid and it won't leak, i thought i was going to have a problem but kris cross tightening really works....have fun.
