Filter seemed good quality. Thick strong plastic as what I took out. I believe it was felt type media. I didn't use the gasket since I have the reusable ford. Not sure I would trust the gasket not to be a problem. It's not cork but some other type material.

No gasket was sent with mine and basically makes the order a waste of my money. I didn’t open the box for a while and don’t expect a return now. Be sure you open the order and confirm you were actually sent all you paid for.

I wanted this kit for the filter, which is for a 4x4 E4OD. My van (a 1993 E-350) is not a 4x4, but since I replaced the transmission pan with a 4R100-style pan, which is deeper, I needed a 4x4 filter.Be sure to remove the old orange filter O-ring from the valve body. They're not supposed to come off the filter but they often do, and stay stuck in the bore. It should come out without too much effort; use a right-angle pick and be careful not to scratch the bore.I did not use the gasket included with this kit, since I ordered an ATP FG300 separately, and it is, in my opinion, a far superior gasket.
