Installed this and I could tell it made a difference in the summer months. If I touch the access door, though, it is still quite a bit warmer than then rest of the ceiling. I'll probably add some additional foam insulation on the access door to help, but overall this will stop the airflow and that's what you really need.

I ordered this item for my attic space that was slightly smaller than the size of this product, thinking I would just trim it down. That's not possible to do, because there's a zipper that goes around the whole outside. I ended up burying the unused end of the cover in my insulation.I have noticed that the room is cooler since installing this. We haven't entered the peak of summer yet, but I'm excited about the results so far.

This is a great product. It was a breeze to install and functions perfectly! The material is solid and feels like it will last years. I was concerned that my opening was about one inch more narrow than this product. It made no impact at all. It installed like a dream and is the perfect design.

Not the thickest material I have encountered. As others have stated, the tape included is not the best. It is better to buy it separately. Installation is quick and easy. Since this is thinner than expected, time will tell on durability.

It is a little hard to illustrate how this works in pictures because of its size and how it sits over stairs, but I tried to give a sense of the three dimensional design. In essence, this is a small tent that sits up into your attic above your pull down stairs. The best part of this is how easy it is to install, so long as you have access to a staple gun and some metal utility tape.Putting this up literally takes less than five minutes. You first unfold it into place, then you staple the bottom to the entrance to you attic with a staple gun.To enhance the insulation further, you can seal the base with metal utility tape. When you need to get into you attic after you put this over your stairs, you simply zip the entire cover up.With the flap peeled back, you can then enter you attic through an opening that is essentially the same shape it was before, only it will have a lip of insulated mylar around the entrance. As soon as I had this up, I was astonished by the temperature differential it created.Inside my attic is was positively sweltering. On the other side of the thermal cover, however, was perfectly cool like the rest of the house. This absolutely works as an insulating layer; actually, it works surprisingly well.I enthusiastically recommend this Thermal Armor Attic Door Insulation Cover. It is affordable, easy to install, and makes a significant different in insulating the area around attic access stairs.

My drop-down door did not seal as well as I would have liked so this is the ideal solution. I centered the insulated cover and started stapling the tape at the edge. It lined up perfectly with my attic opening and is very secure. I already feel a difference in blocking cold air from the attic. I'm sure it will be just as effective at blocking the heat in the summer. I should have looked into one of these years ago. Very good product.
